Get off our street, I’m sick and tired of stopping your users from breaking into my workplace.20+ potential break ins and they just run back to your doors and hide.How many businesses are you going to cripple by not properly checking your residents for the thousands in stolen goods they return with.It’s irresponsible, ignorant and absolutely ridiculous.

I lost my 3.5 year relationship with my commonlaw lady who I have a 2 year old daughter with.I got beet on smashed in face with a bike helmet and pepper sprayed while I went to ask staff for help they told me to leave as they favour different people while working there.staff are useless at that shelter

I work across the street from the shelter and unfortunately, as much as they're trying to help individuals in need, they're horribly failing the community around the area.Shoplifting has spiked immensely in the commercial park, garbage and human waste rampant. Threats of violence against customers and employees in the area have spiked. Several of my coworkers are uncomfortable taking evening shifts that have them leaving after dark.This shelter should have been set up further away from residences and businesses, similar to the Mission Flats shelter. But it wasn't and now respectable citizens are less comfortable visiting and working in businesses near the shelter while business owners are dealing with garbage clean-up, potentially coming into contact with drug paraphernalia, bodily wastes and vandalism, on top of violence and threats of violence.Time to relocate this nuisance to the outskirts of the city where the individuals in need can still access the facility but without putting as many others at risk of the problems the shelter has brought in.

This shelter has caused nothing but more crime. Our cemeteries are being vandalized, local businesses such as Winners and Home Sense are regularly shoplifted from and these people are falling over into traffic as people are commuting. I am absolutely disgusted with the B.C Government for spreading this issue over greater parts of the city.

The staff are very helpful as are the suffering folks using the shelter. I am grateful for Merit Place.
