White River Motel

Clean room, clean bathroom, good wifi. Stayed in room 301, which has a full kitchen as big as the rest of the room, that I thought was a small closet! They were kind about a late check in. Property looks well taken care of. Hands down would stay again. This might be my new stop over point when travelling North to work! A bit of highway noise, and trucks idling at the rest stop across the highway, but you can't expect anything different at a roadside motel. Earplugs solved that quickly. Bed was little firm, but comfortable.

Very pleasantly surprised! Ended up with the last room...but it wasn't a room, it was a 2 bedroom fully furnished, clean and comfortable unit and the price was less than one would pay at a hotel for a basic room. Next time we'll bring our own food to cook in the new fully stocked (plates, glasses, silverware, pots and pans) kitchen. Highly recommended.

The white River Motel did not disappoint! This basic highway-side motel was very clean and comfortable and the staff was friendly and attentive to our needs. I would recommend this motel to anyone looking for a well-priced, quiet and comfy place to stay in White River, Ontario.

Heard some negative stories about this place from trusted locals, was not able to get a refund for cancellation when I switched to the other motel in town, not worth the risk and manager wasn’t very understanding

This place was pretty standard in terms of what to expect for a roadside motel. Fairly clean, unfussy. Came with a mini fridge. It is also dog friendly, though it costs another $20 for a pet, for a grand total of $133 tax included. The room had a funny smell to it...the carpets smelled like a combo of feet and urinal pucks. I think it has to do with the kind of soap they use to clean the carpet, because my dog reeked all day of that carpet smell, and so did my hat that I dropped on the floor overnight. This place should replace that gross carpet entirely.

The power went down in the morning so no wifi, no air conditioning, showering in the dark (thankfully hot water still worked). The price was about $133 (plus taxes) but they only offered a $20 refund. Sink and bathroom were unclean upon arrival. Smelled of a strong scented product.

Room was very clean. Staff are super friendly. We did only 1 night on our way out west. I would recommend as a good stopover for sure.

My family (mom, dad, five kids, small dog) stayed at the White River Motel, rooms 302 and 303 while moving out of Ontario.We took two rooms in a small seperate building from the main hotel,and it was great. Newer rooms, walk right in to the room from the parking spots out front. I was able to park a 26' box truck and 12' long trailer in front of the rooms, plus the van, for complete security.Staff was available very late for our arrival, and very early for our check-out. Great staff throughout, from booking over the phone, to checking out. Pet-friendly rooms available upon request, easy access right off the highway.The rooms were worth every cent, and we got them at what we felt was a very good price.

My husband and his friend stoped at White river for overnight while driving to AB from ON. It was easy to book the room over the phone. The person was accommodating and answered all the questions. It was very important to know if we could park the truck and the trailer. They let them park in a way that was very convenient and safe. The room was clean and warm. They had a very good rest. Would definitely recommend this place for anyone travelling from Ontario to Alberta.

The motel looked nice and as I approached the office I was rather looking forward to spending the night. Sadly, however, they lost my reservation, even though I had a confirmation email. They eventually found the reservation but it hadn't been entered properly into their system and they were fully booked and were not able to honour the reservation. They were extremely apologetic and offered me a room in a construction trailer out back and charged me $30. I wouldn't book again for fear of them losing my reservation again. :(
