THEY WILL COMPLETELY ALTER YOUR BIKE WITHOUT PERMISSION!!! Still mad about it… brought my vintage bike for a tune up. Removed all the gears without telling me, and removed the vintage wheel powered light and threw it out. They said it was “broken” but it would never break and used it a few days prior, they obviously just didn’t know what it was/how it worked. They removed everything unique and special about my bike!!!!

Great selection. Staff are mostly helpful, but when I picked up a newly set up bike trailer I'd bought online (by bike), the staff member helping me wouldn't lend me a wrench for two seconds so I could hitch it to my bike (we don't lend tools"). With no other way to get the trailer home

I came to Urbane because of their seat trial program. I needed a new bike saddle and they were one of the only bike shops that do it! When I came in, their initial issues with providing me with the saddle I wanted should’ve been the first red flag. The saddle was out on loan and was overdue (by about 4 months) to be returned. As a result, they could not open up a new saddle for their program for me until I convinced them. Despite paying $200 for the saddle, I was also charged for the install, which alright weird but fine. I had the saddle for a little over a month and decided I needed something a little wider and when the bike shop called I asked for a recommendation for a new seat. Lo and behold, the seat they recommended was out on loan, and they could once again, not open up a new demo, but they also couldn’t extend my demo time so they needed me to return my saddle and wait till mid June for their other loaned saddle to return. As an avid seasonal biker, I couldn’t be without a bike seat throughout May/June. The saddle they suggested would be $144 plus another install fee. Frustrated by their lack of foresight, I abandoned the entire program, returned my saddle, and picked up their recommended saddle at MEC for $69 *with* a free install. I write this review so that hopefully the owner of the shop sees it and realizes that the bike saddle program needs some work. I would’ve continued being a customer had the saddle been readily available or at least the demo extension (or some other solution) been approved. Additionally and ideally, the install should've been included since the margin on the product is considerably marked up and I had already paid it once to join the saddle trial program. The rating was a 3 because despite the hurdles with the program, the store did provide me with the saddle's full refund and their recommendation was great (loving my new saddle)!~Update~Thanks for the response Owen. While I can understand the program fees (and was willing to continue as a participant), what I can't understand is why despite supply chain issues, you don't have a backup plan for folks who return their saddles but don't have another model to switch over to due to the program's rotational return problems. I'd love to see you guys succeed as a shop, and I applaud your commitment to fair wages, but again the overall saddle trial program needs work.

A shop's product that selection demonstrates the huge strides bicycling technology have taken in recent years; friendly and attentive staff demonstrate the benefits of a co-operative venture; and Owen in the repairs shop demonstrates how professionalism, courtesy, diligent service and thoroughness can guarantee customer loyalty (ie., this guy).

You know I have come across a lot of bike shops in this city. Many of them good Many of them bad. Owen who was my service adviser communicated with me throughout the pandemic With precision. I would recommend this bike shop to any person I Had one of the best experiences When I finally took my bike in I had a wheelset built and Replaced every single component that required and clearly stated what was needed and was not needed to be done. They now own my business and I would recommend the shop to any person. One of the best shops in the city in my opinion. Thanks Urbane cycle. My bike has never worked this good. The best customer service I have ever received at a bike shop. Extremely knowledgeable And they actually care that's what makes this shop one of the best.

I have been here multiple times to grab small accessories. The couple of employees that I've interacted with have given me good advice and suggestions. Highly recommended.

Got a deal on a demo bike for my dad. Great personalized service and committed staff. Their love of bicycles was obvious and that makes for a great experience. Excellent selection of accessories too

UPDATE: The owner (in a deleted response?) seems to think I wanted preferred treatment when I was offering feedback on an obvious bottleneck, not asking for a line skip. I had a great employee helping me - but they had no way to help figure out service timelines.Unfortunately this place suffers from the same problem as other co-ops" in that everyone is an owner and no one wants to be a "worker" or there does not seem to be a "manager" to consider the overall customer experience. My partner and I have supported (and been supported by!) Urbane Cyclist since moving here five years ago. We've shopped around a number of times for location's sake but keep coming back. Their repair and sales teams are both incredibly helpful and friendly, and they've made sure to guide us through every possible option so we can make the most informed decisions. Twice, they have let us in for emergency tire repairs on the weekend with an hour of closing, most recently this past Friday when I picked up this bunny friend on the Hoskins bike path. I cannot recommend Urbane enough; they are the gold standard for cycle shops in Toronto.

My go to for all things bike related. I can’t express how amazing the staff are. They are extremely knowledgeable and really understand their products. From bike bells to the intricacies of how a frame is manufactured. The expertise doesn’t come at the expense of approachability. Super friendly staff who are excited for your next ride!
