I would rate this closer to a 3.5 if I could. It was such a beautiful restaurant, and it felt so light and airy inside. Our server was friendly, and our dishes came out at a steady pace.We had high expectations of the food based on other reviews, but nothing wow-ed us. The dishes we got were close to being great, but some small things made them come up short. For example: the pork belly we ordered was delicious, but the tortillas they came with were a bit big for the portion we were given, and their texture was surprisingly tough? Almost rubbery? We also ordered churros, and the passion fruit dip was so yummy—but the churros themselves were too crispy and lacked that soft chew on the inside.Nevertheless, this wouldn’t stop me from going again and I’d like to try some of the other dishes on menu.

Came here a few weeks ago for an anniversary dinner and it was phenomenal! We shared all that we ordered and we walked away very full and happy. The salsa flight was really great, though having a second bowl of chips is highly recommended. The ceviche was incredible, I don't think I've ever experienced such a tender octopus before. Luckily that one came with more chips so we were able to chow down on the rest of the salsa. We also had the pork belly which came with warmed tortillas, so good, very rich and savory. We tried our best to take photos before we feasted but alas, the temptation was strong so not all of the photos are exactly as they came out to us.Would happily recommend this place, the atmosphere was really charming and classy, our waiter (can't recall their name but they had a knife inner arm tattoo lol) was so great and provided us with the best recommendations when we weren't sure what to start with. 10/10!

Nothing but good times here. Service, food, ambiance…A+. I was told their menu changes every season so I’m curious to see what they offer. That being said everything was outstanding.The only thing negative is the area - it’s a bit off putting to have such beautiful big windows and look out to see boarded up businesses across the street. Hopefully that changes.

Calgary doesn’t have many good restaurants unfortunately but Fonda Flora really surprised us! Overall it was a great experience with several high quality dishes (mushrooms, tuna tostada, carrots, patatas, plantain dessert were all highlights!). Salmon tiradito was unfortunately fishy but other that than quality was great. Looking forward to visiting again on my next trip!

We have dined here a few times, once for lunch and for breakfast, and enjoy it. The food is really interesting, well crafted, and beautiful.The breakfast menu was small, options wise, but had some great dishes. Would highly recommend the Omelette con Salsa Verde.The service is always friendly and efficient. The bonus is the location and decor, the interior style is stunning. We can’t wait to come back and sit on the outdoor patio.

Our server Mike took our dining experience to the next level by expertly selecting an array of delectable dishes and educating us about each one.The Tiradito de Salmon, Tuna tostada, and Beet Salad is a must try!!! We also love coming during happy hour for great deals on tacos

We had lunch here and the mocktails were amazing! The food is also delicious, but I don't know why I started to have diarrhea after eating. Is it because I am pregnant and shouldn't eat raw tiger prawns? Anyway, I will recommend my friends to try it!!

Updated May 27th.Third stay at the Westley and 6th visit to Fonda Fora. Breakfast was a disaster that should have easily been avoided. My wife has a severe peanut allergy and we always state this at every meal even if there’s almost zero chance of there being peanuts/oil in the prep or food. We informed our server about the peanut allergy and found out after that the avocado toast has peanut finely chopped into a seasoning on top. So, thank you for zero attention to detail and a severe reaction that could have been deadly.First Review: Went for drinks one night and breakfast the next day. So, two reviews in one. Overall, really good. The service was excellent and attentive. Even when things took a little longer due to how busy they were, we were always getting an update. Deserts and drinks during the evening were solid. A simple Grey Goose Vodka martini was the only major disappointment. I wanted a very dry martini and it was the opposite. Oh well. The breakfast the next day was quite good. Excellent service again. I really enjoyed the avocado toast. Coffee really needs to be improved hence the 4 Star review. Really good overall with the need for a little improvement on martinis and get that coffee tasting more like actual coffee. With a little work and could easily be 5 stars.

An absolute gem! Beautifully creative dishes expertly executed. The trout was a “10”- I’ve never seen trout prepared so perfectly. Jicama salad was a cloud. Handmade tortillas - they truly take pride. The chef is a marvel of creativity and execution. Cocktails spot on and excellent enthusiast servers & management. I have never written a review of this caliber. What a wonderful surprise in the Wesley Hotel.

Stayed over a short trip to Calgary. The resto is in The Westley, a boutique westin hotel. Had dinner and breakfast at the Fonda. Overall the food is great but the breakfast portions are smaller. Would have liked it bigger. Dinner was nice, again would have been better if the portions are bigger. Thanks!Edit: I added a $4 side potato and that did the trick. Highly recommend getting a side with breakfast. Thanks for the tasty breakfast.
