Step by Step School of Dance

There is a male teacher whose interaction with parents is very rude and the administration seems not to mind. There are certainly better places that will offer the same if not higher quality of teaching plus the opportunity to be treated with respect (maybe only those who have danced many years there get that privilege).

Quite disappointing

My children have been dancing at Step by Step for 6+ years!Kids are eager to get to dance class every week to learn new skills and technique. We are very happy with the teaching staff and office staff who go beyond! Staff can be seen helping kids tie shoes, get hair tied up.Our family enjoys the end of year recital! Purchasing the DVD is perfect for us so we can go back over the years and see just how much our girls have grown! Those dance costumes have also transformed into a dress up station providing hours of play opportunities at home!Looking forward to the next dance season!

Low value, taking advantage of parents’ wish to see their kidsParents pay the whole year and there are no make-up classes for holidays or weather cancellations like in other studios or academies.For the end-of-year recital they charge an absurd price for the costume (maybe twice as much as if you would organize it yourself) and if you want to see your kid dancing you still have to pay $22 per parent, family member and/or friend (for four of us it was $88 to see her in a 3 min performance) PLUS you pay another $10 for your own performing kid to watch the show or else she has to remain backstage (!!)Your kid gets to perform two days (same program) but if you and your family want to attend the second day, you have to pay per person AGAIN. You’re not even allowed to take video of your child, so they can sell you a $45-dollar CD. At the end of the day the show is average or less…beware of this rip-off.

Great teacher at the Adult Ballet and Barre class. Very low key, no pressure. Not overly difficult but you'll get a workout. Not a typical workout/barre class, it's more an actual ballet class. Payment went fine, I never had to deal with anyone really. Parking is fine and free.

I am very disappointed with this school.First, they changed my daughter's day of class about 1 1/2 months after the program started.Second, they cancelled 3 classes because of bad weather without having a make up class or return of the money.Third, the whole price for the recreational dance recital experience" is crazy expensive

Went to the first recital ever and WOW!!!Going into this the youngster I was cheering on was very nervous. Her Mom was supportive and used the terms the school had reinforced to reassure her.TL;DR: She nailed it.Short story long:The costuming and make up were perfect.Before the curtain went up the audience was breathless with anticipation. The opening number (a Hamilton tune) was stunning - full of energy and smiles, smiles, smiles.The entire show was a technical masterpiece of lighting, sound and HIT cues. It was an amazing spectacle to behold.The performers natural talent, choreographed by a skilled and professional team, was under the SOLE direction of the Artistic Director and was, in a word: beguiling.It was as harmonious as it was enthralliing. I thought the entire event was 1 - maybe - 2 hours. It was over three hours of pure entertainment.7/5 stars.

My kids have danced here for 15 years and have shown massive improvements, in many parts of their young lives, in and out of the studio.Value is what you make of it and like other sports costs can be as much as the parent is willing to support.After years of being at Step by Step I came to understand why they do what they do. At the beginning of our journey I to questioned costs and teaching but when the benefits started coming I truly saw the value for my kids.At the end of our journey I came to one conclusion, you get what you pay for.It was worth every damn penny!

I looked at many dance schools before placing my children here and even tried out a different one. I have found the pricing structure for classes competitive and other obligations similar from studio to studio (costumes, recital tickets, photos etc). I love the fact that you can watch your children practice through the one way blinds in the windows of the studios (this is not always the case with other studios). My children (one on the competitive team and one dancing recreationally) are encouraged and challenged at the same time. The staff is approachable and know my children as individuals; their strengths as well as weaknesses where more effort may need to be applied. Both of my kids love this place, have learned a great deal, have fun and have made lasting friendships.

My daughter has been dancing at SBS Dance Studio since she was five. She loves it thereI would recommend this studio to any one who loves dance. I give it a 5 star
