Lorsque notre première gardienne (en milieu familial) nous annonça qu'elle prenait sa retraite, mon mari et moi étions heureux et soulagés d'apprendre que la garderie Bettye Hyde (située dans notre quartier) était maintenant déménagée et acceptait des bambins à temps plein. Connaissant l'excellente réputation de l'établissement, nous nous sommes empressés de prendre rendez-vous pour une visite. Aussitôt que nous avons visité le nouvel emplacement (Carriage House) et rencontré Cindy et les éducatrices, notre décision était prise!Notre fille fréquente donc la Coopérative Bettye Hyde depuis avril 2014 et nous ne pourrions être plus satisfaits! La qualité des soins, la richesse du programme, l'esprit coopératif, et l'emplacement favorisent énormément la croissance et le développement de notre enfant. À nos yeux, le personnel extrêmement compétent, attentif et aimable fait de la Coopérative Bettye Hyde un endroit dans lequel nous avons confiance et dans lequel notre enfant peut évoluer en toute sécurité, entourée d'amour.Une autre chose qui nous a convaincu que Bettye Hyde était l'endroit pour notre enfant est l'aspect coopératif. What a great daycare! The educators are so attentive, patient and caring. The respect and love that they have for children is expressed in everything that they do. The new location is just magical - I wished I went to Bettye Hyde everyday! Both our girls just love going there every days, Thank you to the team.

We decided to skip junior kindergarten so our son can continue the excellent education he is getting at this nursery school. The warm atmosphere and child-led activities make for a very fun place to learn. We can't wait for our younger son to begin his early childhood education at this lively, cheerful nursery school.

My daughter has been attending to the toddlers program for almost a month and so far I have nothing but positive thoughts about Bettye Hyde, it’s a warm and loving family and we feel blessed to be part of it.

My daughter attended Bettye Hyde for one year and loved it. It was a great place for her to make friends and learn in a play-based environment. The teachers are excellent - very gentle, nurturing and kind. I would recommend this school to anyone looking for quality childcare in Ottawa.

Over the last 4 years, Bettye Hyde has really become part of our family. My eldest son attended Bettye Hyde for two years and my youngest son is currently attending Bettye Hyde full-time. As a Child Psychologist and University Professor of child development, I can honestly vouch for the exceptional quality of this childcare centre. Children are in excellent hands at Bettye Hyde and few places in Ottawa can match the quality of care, nurturance and educational guidance children at Bettye Hyde receive.Nurturing and loving staff is one of the many things that sets Bettye Hyde apart. For both boys, it has been a wonderful place for them to make friends, socialize, and explore. With a focus on free play and exploring, they have learned to be inquisitive and confident. They have been also been supported in their emotional development as there is a real focus on being conscious of others and demonstrating empathy. My 6 year old is now in Grade one and the benefits of his time at Bettye Hyde remain.Most of the staff has been there for over 10-15 years and they are incredible. They are patient, gentle, kind, and incredibly dedicated and committed to the school. They put in countless extra (and unpaid) hours to prepare special activities and memories for the children. Their gentle approach and use of positive strategies to guide the children to make good choices is also exceptional.The cooperative nature of the nursery school also allows for us as parents to be as involved as we would like which can be a wonderful transition for both children and parents. I have also served on the board which has been a wonderful experience in terms of learning the inner workings of the school and being involved in the decision-making process.Bettye Hyde really is an exceptional place and its brand new location in a beautiful old historic home which has been entirely renovated is perfect. I fully recommend (both personally and professionally) Bettye Hyde for anyone looking for good quality and loving care in Ottawa. It is also just 5 blocks away from the University of Ottawa.
