I would have left 5 stars because the cabin was great! However when we asked to rent additional life jackets so that friends who were staying at the resort could use our kayaks while we fished, the front desk manager thought she would teach us a lesson. A lesson on safety.... she had her staff dig for the worst most bulky keyhole life jacket that was moldy and dropped it off to our cabin with a rude and condescending note about coming prepared and knowing current boating laws.A simple regular life jacket and no note would have sufficed. Every other year the staff has been accommodating and kind. Really hoping for better if we decided to do our group trip here again.

We recently spent an amazing week in a luxury yurt, and returned feeling SO relaxed and refreshed. The yurt was well equipped and the beds were amazing. Views are breathtaking - we even had regular visits from the bald eagle that had a nearby nest. We ate in the restaurant on a few occasions and enjoyed both the service and the food. Will definitely return.

What a fantastic hidden gem for camping! Our fully serviced spot overlooked the marina and was beautiful. The bathrooms (with showers!) were close by and clean. Jess and Erin (and the other resort staff we ran into) made us feel very welcome. This was a great place to spend our May long weekend.

Very disappointed in the $79 a night spot we paid which was described as a treed site" but was in fact a large gravel area in a parking area with views of a public washroom. Not what I expected for the most expensive camping I have ever paid. We were kept awake most of the night with the crunching of gravel - vehicles coming in and out of the campsite and people walking along. There was no privacy. The restaurant was great and we had a good time hiring out one of there boats which was the reason we stayed.Update: A lovely lady at Moutcha Bay Resort reached out to us and handled our issue really well. It was nice that our feedback was welcomed and it sounds like there are plans underway for improvements so we look forward to coming again and hopefully seeing some great changes."

I love the yurts. I stayed in them several times and enjoyed them. They've got great modern amenities. Beautiful!

We stayed at MBR for 10 days in September of 2022 in a truck camper with our own boat. The staff were amazing . . . we had trouble with our own boat and the staff were very helpful in helping us to get a rental and get back on the water. This was my second trip and I will definitely return. The area is amazing, staff are top notch and the facilities are great. Thanks for a wonderful experience again!

The booking experience per phone was 5*.My mini yurt was beautiful and clean, the deck with almost new patio furniture and BBQ overlooking the amazing Bay and wildlife were great. The separate bathroom-building houses a large, clean and modern bathroom. Stocked with thick towels and very clean. It felt safe on my ownThe sink and kitchen 'cart' in the yurt were useful. It's all well built and maintained. The king bed made for good night sleeps and the fireplace provided warmth.Rented a kayak and had a fabulous peaceful afternoon with tons of salmon around my kayak. Nature is peaceful and incredible here. The challenge is the noise of ongoing traffic (work equipment during the day) and idling of diesel trucks of guests on the parking lot (who forget this is illegal and disturbing), starting as early as 6.30 am, and ending 9.30 PM...As it was just after labour day weekend, the Fall/winter property preparation was starting. And having lived remotely before, I get that...I absolutely love the food offered in the restaurant, very fresh, nice choice for my taste and attentive staff. The patio is a relaxing place for an afternoon Vancouver Island craft beer. All at reasonable prices.Unfortunately, due to current staffing shortage in our BC hospitality Industry they could not offer breakfast.Hint: always bring your own food, the BBQ option is great. There are also communal BBQs available. The whole property is well maintained and clean. All the staff I met: friendly with a genuine smile and interactive. Always willing to answer my questions or have a chat.Due to my concerns re the noise and my disappointment, I decided to leave a day early. Back home, I took the time to express my concerns in a call with the booking office. This was handled seriously by management (who called me back) and I feel confident they will make changes for the better. I also discussed a different resort option (at one of their other resorts) to have a more retreat like experience.Thank you management for taking my concerns seriously and for the solution offered. I know you care!I give it 4* due to the overall experience.I would.love to come back and bring friends.

2nd time here. Keeps getting better. 5 star resort. It was short handed with staff but still an amazing place. Great dock staff, amazing restaurant with great food and drinks. Gateway to Nootka sound and absolute west coast beauty. Headed back next year for five nights in a yurt.

A must-see spot in BC! We spent 3 nights in the luxury yurts and loved every minute. The views are 10/10, the yurt is awesome, spacious and clean. The staff were lovely and booking via the phone was really easy. The road into Moutcha Bay is really off-the-grid but makes getting there so special. Perfect place to unplug and enjoy the beauty of nature. Highly recommend, we’ll be back!!
