Kingston Hotel

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The area was awesome, accessible to a lot of places (restaurant, groceries, transit). The hotel itself is clean and has a very 90’s feel decor. The rooms are small but it did the trick for a one night stay. A quiet neighbourhood. I am not a fan of shared washroom, but they keep theirs very clean. Would definitely recommend this place to someone who is looking for an inexpensive place to stay in the city

We loved this place. The rooms are very small and simple, have shared bathrooms and showers (it was built as a boarding house in the early 1900s, so picture that), with no TV...and we loved it. Amazing location especially for the price! Our room and the shared bathrooms were meticulously clean. Staff was kind. The free breakfast in the small front room looked adorable. It was infinitely charming. If you are looking for modern amenities and a standard modern hotel room, don't come here as you will disappointed like the other reviewers leaving low ratings who perhaps didn't read the hotel description prior to booking! If you're looking for a charming, old fashioned and boutique experience at a great price in an even greater location, stay here.We plan to make this place our regular hotel for when we spend nights in the city.

You get what you pay for. Older hotel that offers the essentials. Easy access to downtown and key attractions. Also friendly staff. Reason I gave room 2 stars was:1 - Faucet was missing a handle and if you turned on water blasted it EVERYWHERE and got you and your belongings wet. Would have given 1 star for this alone, but I factored in the affordability. Easy fix so unacceptable.2 - One lamp + outlet was not working

The rooms were nice, however it was stated that check in was at 3pm and I had to wait till 440pm to get my keys for my suite. It caused issues for me naturally and wasn't compensated in any way for my troubles ☹️

I had a great experience of staying here. Everything was so good and people working there were so kind to us. The interior looked great despite the fact that the building is old. Now it’s my favourite place to return to!!!

Accommodation prices in Vancouver are eye-watering, and this is one of the cheaper options in the central city. I found the service exceptional and the highlight of my visit. The shared bathroom wasn't the issue I thought it might be - I was always able to access it when needed. The room was clean and tidy, but pretty basic and very warm. The supplied fan didn't quite hit the mark for a hot June night.

Stayed 1 night for Roger's event. Cute little funky place. Room was as advertised and clean AF. Sad to see them closed?

Great location. Rooms are super clean for being over 100 years old. I heard some rooms have shared bathrooms but ours had it's own. The people running the hotel were all really great. Very friendly and helpful. There was no air conditioning which was fine in may, but possibly could be hot in August. Location was central to everything we wanted to do in downtown. Restaurants nearby were fantastic.

I stayed here in the summer of 2012, so I can only say what Kingston Hotel was like 5 years ago. I had a great experience. The room was small but in good condition. It had a view of the street. The bed was clean and comfortable, better than it looks in the pictures, I think. The shared bathroom situation was fine. They were very clean and set up nicely so you still have some privacy. There was also a small unisex bathroom (on each floor I think) that locked and had a toilet, sink, and shower, which might be nice if you don't feel comfortable in the shared bathrooms. Breakfast was basic, but tasted good and the location can't be beat. I spent a week there and didn't have a car and didn't feel like I needed one.
