Tom Lee Music Vancouver

Every time I enter a Tom Lee I realize I’m invisible as a woman to the musical bros working there, although if I’m with a man they certainly always talk to them. I WAS asked what I was wanting and told them an acoustic with a pickup and they just walked away. That was it. More service than usual though. After speaking to the manager (which I’ve never done in any store in my life until today) on Granville and having them excuse the lack of service and dismiss literally everything I said was even more infuriating. Do yourself a favour and go to Long & McQuade. They’re always helpful no matter how you present and honestly, they have way better products. Women are also musicians, Tommy and if someone is trying to share their experience with you, you can in the very least receive it even if you don’t agree or want to make any changes.

Definitely worthy of a stop.The piano section is amazing - very personable salesperson an if you are lucky you just might hear some amazing live music.There is a lot of band instruments, keyboards and sound monitoring systems.

Trey was super helpful when I purchased an electric drum kit and double kick. He was patient and courteous regarding me going back and forth and calling him with questions about double kicks.He went the extra mile for me and did some research and looked up the best product they had available and set it aside for me.100% would go to him again for any of my musical needs.Thank you Trey for everything!! I was so exhausted but you helped to make the purchases smooth and super easy for me.

Came in looking to buy a piano today! Was looking at the keyboards after a knowledgeable salesman helped us out, and was testing a few out with my sister before heading into the piano room, when the security guard came up to us and told us to be quiet. We then headed into the piano room and ended up not buying anything because we were off-put by the rude tone and behaviour of the security guard - while everyone else was very nice, it didn’t make much sense to us for someone to tell us to be quiet in a music shop. We’ll probably be back in spite of this because of their large piano section, but not soon.

It seems the management of the company is not good because they got lost the parts of my violin, which was sent for repairing. The staff even didn’t know if the company staff or co-operator team threw them on purpose or just dropped accidentally. That’s unreasonable, and I’ve never met the situation before.Anyway, after I insisted to return all the parts of my violin, the staff find some accessories for replacing the original ones. Hope the bridge works.

I just had a musician friend come in on a cruise ship for only two hours with a broken tuning peg on a guitar. We popped by Tom Lee and a tech named JC did a great job in under 15 minutes. There’s a lot of talk about falling customer service standards these days, so it’s nice to have the complete opposite experience. Thanks for that fella!

I had a fantastic experience with Customer service!I got my first guitar after two returning guitars; Ed was accommodating, very informative and patient with me. Tried to order something online with a gift card, and so I could get it shipped to the island because I qualified for free shipping, and because there’s no Tom Lee out here anymore, but the site would not accept my gift card, just kept getting an error which was clearly a bug on the site. I tried numerous times from different computers, devices, and browsers. Called and they said I can’t pay for it over the phone with the card. My dad went in to pay in person and asked if they would ship it to me for free since the site didn’t work and they refused, and said I’d have to pay for shipping. Thanks Tom Lee, awesome customer service.

Great selection of basses! Unfortunately, it’s tough to get a feel for any of them as one of their staff members (who I’ve dubbed Glasses Van Halen) loves the sound of his own playing so much that he’s 1) cranked with gain levels dialed perfectly set to hurt customer ears and 2) linked up to various amps across the store. Practice makes perfect so they say and oh boy does Glasses Van Halen need it (Protip: a tuner has never hurt anyone). That being said, it makes for an irritable experience if attempting to, god forbid, shop for equipment.Sorry boys, better luck next time. Might I recommend leaving the practice at home and trying to assist customers while you are…working?!
