very good place for banking friendly helpful staff

This Branch needs PR skills like every Meridian ive been in. I had 400 dollars in a savings account since 2013 and they wouldn't let me open a checkings account saying its a privilege to have an account.. I thought it was a right last time I checked. I was treated with complete rudeness as I entered and I was trying to bring a large some of money to deposit. Your branch should be audited by head office the way you run off larger cash clients. DONT FORGET ITS A PRIVILEGE IN OUR COUNTRY TO HAVE A BANK ACCOUNT.

Fantastic branch.I honestly don't know why anyone deals with the big banks. Credit Unions are the way to go. They support local communities and aren't in it for shareholders.Love going in this branch. They know me, my wife, kids, all without me having to give my card. And it's not just this branch. It seems Meridian goes out of it's way to hire great people that have a great memory.They care.

I believe in investing in banks but putting my short term money in Credit Unions because they are non-profit and therefore do not charge the atrociously high fees of banks. I think most people do not even know that being a member of a credit union is much cheaper and they usually have higher interest on savings accounts than banks. On top of that Meridian has an online high interest savings account which right now (November 20, 2017) pays 1.4%. Other credit unions like Cambrian in Manitoba have formed online banks so they can service all Canadians not just those in the local credit union's area. Achieva bank is the bank established by Cambrian which gives an even higher interest rate than Meridian. I have a small business account with Meridian for which I pay only $5 per month for my checking account. I wonder if ANY bank can match that. To the individual that felt he got poor service, I think perhaps he deserves to pay the high fees of banks. It is easy to get an inexperienced teller anywhere. It is true that most financial institutions will not give you change if you do not bank there. I am pretty sure that is a general policy. I was a member of the former Niagara Credit Union since 1962 which became Meridian since 1962 and I have had lower fees, higher interest rates and better service than any bank that I was a member of.

This is a good location with friendly service and ample parking.

I opened a business account with this branch, there are some serious issues with how they deal with a small business compared to a large one and question of do they care about their customers.I took a cheque in from a contract I was doing, was told by the teller, no there is no hold after asking, she didn't say I will have to check, nothing like that, just looked at the info on the screen and said no. Two weeks later, same company I am doing contract work for pays their next invoice, I take it to the bank. Then I am all of the sudden told there is a 10 day hold, it means either the first one didn't do her job proper which is usually the companies fault for not training right or it was just an oversight. When they say days, it usually means 10 business days so about 2 weeks.I ended up closing my account for 3 main reasons:You can't use their debit card to make purchases online, even after 15 years.They charge for this they said they wouldn't.And finally, they can change their mind just like that especially with hard times on small businesses, no wonder so many are closing.

IF you are a member of there credit union, they are kind and friendly, if you are not, they are rude. Asked for change to take home to do laundry and a first would not facilitate my request, upon willing to give my name and phone number, they accommodate me, but it's against there policy, member's only and that it was against government rules. Upon calling there head office and speaking with a supervisor there, they assured of its just Meridian policy and nothing to do with government. The sad part in all of this is I am a credit union member, just not theirs and as a financial business in the community. . . .I wonder do any of the coin wash business do business with Meridian cause sure aren't helping them or anyone else in the community. The next time I needed change I went to the bank down the street T.D. and they were only to happy to help me. Won't take a rocket scientist to figure out where I will go for financial help when I need it. If you took the time to read this far have a most excellent blessed day!
