Dr. Johan Viljoen

I went to him a year ago and he has no bedside manner at all. When there was no heartbeat at 12 weeks he panicked in the room and then did an ultrasound and told me my baby was dead and to go for emergency ultrasound to be sure. I left his office in shock and crying and then he called me and mumble that i had to go to emergency room for d&c. It was my first pregnancy and i was disgusted at how unprofessional he acted. He didn't even call after my operation to check on me or anything. He needs to retire and work on his professionalism.

Have had him all 4 pregnancies. Most amazing Dr and staff!! I will never go to another Dr for my needs. Love him!

My (wonderful) oh/gyn retired and my doctor referred me to Viljoen for a simple LEEP procedure. 6 months later I went to the hospital in excruciating pain and I still hadn’t been seen. The emergency doc contacted Dr. Viljoen who said I wasn’t a patient. I went back to my doctor who inquired with his office, why I hadn’t been seen. And they said they didn’t want the referral so they IGNORED IT.The utter disregard for human life is awful. My old doctor said it’s because they’re not allowed to refuse maternity patients because of various laws protecting them. Well we need similar laws for cancer patients clearly. Cancer is a serious disease that is often preventable if caught early. Mine was caught early and this doctor refused to treat me.

This physician is not located in a strip mall. His address is 1200 Fourth Avenue in ST. Catharines, which is the St. Catharines General Hospital. He is located in the hospital on the 4th floor, Women and Babies unit.
