Engineered hardwood flooring replaced by insurance because of some water damage. Colour started coming off grey floor within months of install. Same end of each plank went white, sides of some planks went white and generally floor getting lighter. Pigment is being tracked to adjacent rugs/carpet and wrecking them. Warranty denied without any documentation to support denial. Denial attached. I then spent $525 to get independent professional inspection for cause of flooring failure. After testing floors, told it is a manufacturing failure as type of damage could not be caused by homeowner. While GE Shnier did not dispute report, it was ignored and warranty denied. After a complaint to Better Business Bureau, GE Shnier head office response was to deny warranty again because retailer/installer did not inspect every plank, flooring with defects was installed and so they are once again denying warranty but for a different reason. There is no possible repair and flooring needs to be replaced. Flooring is expensive and a 25 year warranty was important but warranty becomes a disappearing illusion as soon as the floor was installed. Will not be selecting GE Shnier flooring when the flooring is replaced. All involved companies point to someone else as being responsible so the courts will sort out liability. I just wanted a floor of similar quality to what I had but have gotten a year of stress and a failing floor.
