The Islands Provincial Park
Beautiful Campground with spectator views of Shelburne water front. Little tight for those with large camper units getting around the one-way road. We did not use any of their washrooms, unknown to what they are like. There is no check-in/out, just go straight to your site. Saw an odd staff around, not sure what they do, they definitely don't monitor the campers for rule breaking or if those on sites have any actual booking and no staff from dusk to 9ish am. Two campers next to me ran their generators all day until midnight at which time they all left leaving their campers and 2 dogs tied to a tree (yup) on their site barking all night for our first night, next day they returned around noon hosted a very loud drinking/drug party of about 25 persons until 10ishpm then run their gens until 1am; I know it's always a gamble to whom you'll have as a neighbour, but the camp staff should have been all over this behavior. For this reason I drop my rating to 3, if it wasn't for my first comment it would be 1 star for the camps lack of security.

Love this park. Can’t say enough good things about it. The location is stunning, and so near to Shelburne. It is directly connected with the rail trail and we cycled our bikes to Shelburne, had a drink at the yacht club, did some shopping and cycled back. There are some fantastic sites here and some not so fantastic. We last stayed at a waterfront site that was absolutely lovely. Make sure you check out the map and site images before you book. Not all waterfront sites are good. Some have a bit of privacy and others are sitting right on top of your neighbours so you can all hear each other sneeze. The washrooms are fantastic. The best in the provincial parks after Valley View Provincial Park. Each washroom is private, for you only, and includes a full shower, a sink and a toilet. They are all private washrooms in the entire washroom facility. Wheelchair accessible too for all of them. This will be your best washroom experience. The campfire wood was good here too, which is not always the case at every campground.

We have been going to the Islands Provincial Park yearly for the last 4 years. Beautiful views, clean updated restrooms with hot showers and friendly staff. Do your research before you select a spot some are more private and wooded than others.

What a beautiful park. I parked by the gate an walked through the camping side (closed for the season) then on to the picnic side. I balanced rocks peacefully at the point. There are so many lovely spots to sit and take in the view, if you find one occupied, just move on to the next. Lovely day park.

We love staying at the islands. The views of the harbour and the updated, accessible bathrooms/showers make it one of the best NS provincial parks for camping.

Absolutely beautiful campground.I cannot think of one thing that could make it better. The washroom/shower are the nicest I have ever seen anywhere, including alot of hotels.Overlooking historic Shelburne.A relatively small campground with many sites right on the water. The campsites are varied with many tucked into little nooks and crannies in the small hills that make up the campground.Kids on their bikes will love it.Ok, that's it for now, don't tell anyone. I want there to be a spot next week!

We really enjoyed our stay (Site 12). The kids rode their bikes all around the park. The rail trail to Shelburne (~8km round trip) is in very good shape for bikes. We drove to Roseway beach (25km) and the splash pad I'm Graham's Park to cool the kids down. Many sites work well for family groups as they are clustered close. The NEW WASHROOMS are Excellent! They have big rooms for families to use with accessible full size showers, warm water, change tables, and flush toilets.

I have been coming here since I was a small child, always been one of the best places to go camping. This past weekend I went and noticed they have redone the main bathrooms, to which they are way nicer than when I remember, and each bathroom is individual with own shower. The water is always nice to swim in, although rather cold. Staff are always so friendly. Recently stayed in site 31 with tent.
