Cedarbrook Lodge Retirement Residence

My Mother, Marion Penrose is in the best place for her well being. Mom tested positive for Covid-19 and was given the kind and diligent care . I can not say enough positive things about the staff at Cedarbrook Lodge. They have worked for over a year in a crisis situation and Mom still receives the best care ever. Mom knows the staff and always talks favourably about them. They are really professional and for this I admire them greatly. They make a very difficult situation endurable for Mom. Thanks to all . Staff do not seem to care. Can ring the call bell for 2 hours still nobody shows up. Every meal of every day is ice coldNot a very nice place at all stay away.

My family's experience with Cedarbrook Lodge Retirement has been wonderful! Over these past few months during my father's stay, management and staff have been nothing short of accommodating and welcoming. Any questions or concerns have been addressed efficiently. We strongly feel that they truly care about the residents, in addition to being there for us as his family during the different transitions we have experienced with our father.

My mom has lived at Cedarbrook Lodge 3 years and I am 100% satisfied with the care she receives. There is great variety in the food, the facility is constantly being cleaned and the staff is beyond exceptional! I am so grateful my mom is safe here and treated with respect and kindness.

Everything seems peachy at first, but after a month they jacked up the prices and tried to force us into signing a permanent contract. Some staff are great, but some are unfriendly and unwilling to help. They made every request seem to be an imposition. They would take 20 - 30 minutes to answer the buzzer. The facility is 35 years old. The elevators make alarming noises and often break down. The only good thing is that there's lots of entertainment, but that does not compensate for not being treated with respect.

MIL went to Cedarbrook during transition from Scarborough General to a long-term care home. The staff made the transition a smooth one, handling arrangements with the hospital and community care PSWs. The facility is nice, lots of windows, and staff are friendly and helpful. I'd recommend this retirement home based on our experience this past month.

My Pappou resided here for 6 months and Cedarbrook was by far the best place he’s been to, the staff are super friendly and the atmosphere is super welcoming!

Awful place during COVID19 virus. Understaffed, underpaid, poor food, patients kept in rooms 24 hours a day. Can't recommend at the best of times, let alone now.

I am absolutely blown away by the kindness of the staff. Three of the staff working with my Mom have been there over 25 years and that tells you something. We contacted Cedarbrook when my Mom was in hospital with a broken pelvis. They made things work so we could get her in right away. She came in a wheelchair and we were told the outlook for her walking again was not good. Actually the hospital told us she would never walk again. She was treated with kindness and the staff were so lovely and gentle. She started improving as soon as we moved her in and within the first month she was up and walking with a walker. We have been very fortunate. We were very lucky to find such a caring place. It may be a little older but the most important element is the care and we couldn't be happier.
