Shane Duffy is a scam as a home inspector. Paid him close to 1000$ to do an inspection prior to purchasing a new home. He did his inspection and only documented very base layer and common sense stuff(broken siding etc). He missed or did it acknowledge bare live wires resting on wood, leaks in exposed plumbing, the dug well not being to grade etc. I was out of province at the time so I couldn't inspect it myself. But anyone with half a mind would have noticed this. I am convinced my 10 year old niece would have done a better job. Resulted in having to spend upwards of $30,000 to get the house to a safe and functioning level. When you spend a premium on a home inspector you expect the service to be at the very least competent.

Great experience with Shane, who did two inspections for us. Very professional, thorough and clear but most importantly offered up some great practical suggestions that we had not thought about. While I haven't had the opportunity of using Shane as a home inspector to date I can speak to his character and resourcefulness. I worked with Shane before he made the transition to home inspector, while working with Shane I witnessed on many occasions his professional and caring personality while dealing with less than ideal circumstances. Any time I had gone to Shane with a question if he didn't have the answer he would do the digging required to find the answer or requirements for the situation.
