Holiday House Seaview Motel

BED BUGSWe stayed at this hotel under my friends name, Kelsey BWe found a bed bug crawling on my pillow before we went to bed. We then stripped down the bed sheets to make sure there wasn’t anymoreWe didn’t find anymore but that doesn’t take away the uncomfortable feeling we felt going to bed afterWhen we told the owner about what we saw, she just told us it wasn’t possible, told us someone must’ve put it there and there was no way there was bed bugsThere was indeed bed bugs in our room, room 115For one night we payed just over $300 which is in my opinion, not at all worth the price for what we gotBed sheets were clean but overall, the room didn’t feel that clean. Lots of grime and dirt in small spaces in the bathroomShe said laundry and breakfast is included. Laundry is not apart of the hotel and it’s a laundry mat a few minutes down the street. For breakfast, you had to pay $10 to get a $10 coupon to use at the breakfast place beside the hotelThis lady takes no ownership, which she has shown by completing denying the possibility of there being bed bugs, and how she responds to other customers commentsThe only thing good I’ll say is she was very friendly when we checked in, she made sure to quickly get us more towels when we asked for more and was helpful when we asked her for information on Canada Day festivitiesBut, I wouldn’t go here again

BUYER BEWAREI I will begin by saying I enjoyed my stay. The room was very clean, the bed was comfy, the location was good. Everything went smoothly until it was time to get my deposit back. I called the hotel to inquire and was told it was only on a hold. Ok I'll wait.10 business days pass and still no return. I contact my credit card company. The transaction was put through as a purchase. The hotel refuses to answer my emails, or return my deposit. A 5 star rave review has turned into a zero star one. I'm not sure if this is the way they're scamming their customers, but my $300 motel stay has cost me over $500..

Fantastic, comfortable place to stay in LadySmith. The room is clean and large. You can see the sea just by opening the curtains. Great choice in Victoria island.

The owner is a professional hospitality provider and happily checked us in early on a rainy day and gave us a free room upgrade. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable and well equipped. Great location. Super quiet. Great sleep. No issues. There are many motels that are great although they are a little dated, and this is one of them.

Looks don't show the whole story. After getting charged $$$ by most of the private rentals in this small town, I suggested we use this hotel on our next visit. The AC is so nice in the spring/summer, and actually covers up the highway noise. We started listing all the features from days gone by that we actually miss. Real ashtray on the balcony, that you can sit on and smoke. HDMI to the cable box, that you can easily use for your laptop to stream. Full sized coffee pot, not the tiny two cup ones of today. Fridge that you can use, no RF enabled nonsense. Walking distance to all the best restaurants and pubs, and excellent coffee shop across the street.

This was the most disgusting place I’ve ever stayed at. There was blood on the wall the fire detector was detached there was body fluid on the cupboard the wall was dirty behind the sink there was fingerprints all over the bathroom door. I could go on. The bedding was clean I will give the owner that. They did notice that the smoke detector was not on, so after check-in called us to come reattach it. I wonder if the room was forgot to be cleaned at that point maybe they would’ve noticed. This is my third timer writing this review edit has been taken down twice now. Upon check out when we showed her the photos and videos that we took she said to us that she was comfortable with the cleanliness of the room and felt that it was acceptable to charge us $200 per night because it was a long weekend. The only reason we stayed there was because we were in a bind . We would’ve gladly forfeited the money and gone elsewhere if there was any other option. There were trucks parked right side of our window blocking the Seaview in the no parking lane. They were about 5 to 10 feet from our sliding door to our patio which also had blood on it I will mention . She reckons the reason this room was so dirty was because it was a pet room. I don’t see how pets have anything to do with the cleanliness of the room. It was smelly and we could hear those above a showering as the pipes are very old and we could hear water dripping in our bathroom . The bed was saggy. I couldn’t get out of there fast enough. I feel we were completely taken advantage of I gave the owner the opportunity to rectify the situation by telling her we were not satisfied for that price. This place should be condemned it is so absolutely disgusting.

We spent two nights in Ladysmith with three kids. Staff are very friendly and accessible when we have questions. We stayed in the main floor with a good size patio that overlooked the rose garden. There are fridge and microwave to make our stay more easy. The price is compatible and much cheaper than staying in Nanaimo. A great location for me taking the kids to the nearby beach, 2 mins drive to Save-on-food. It's a wonderful stay and i will come back with my dog next time.

Friendly staff, comfortable beds, beautiful ocean views, good location and great value!!The outside of the motel is normal. but inside is fully renovated. The beds were very comfortable and the view from the room is excellent. Our family enjoyed stay there and they had BBQ grill onsite for us to use free of charge. This made kids very happy and we were pleased with their service.The room had everything we needed and it was very clean!Highly recommend !!
