Our sidewalk had deteriorated to the point it was an eyesore in the neighborhood. And after a slip-and-trip injury, we knew it was time to replace it. Jake quoted the job quickly, when others were dragging their feet, hemming and hawing. And his team at Montana Mud Studs was just as efficient during demolition and installation.Unfortunately the concrete is low quality material that didn’t even hold up 24 months and the entire surface flaked away. Two years in, we are back to eyesore of the neighborhood.Jake claims that this is spalling due to chemical ice melt. It is not. It is complete surface delamination due to hasty finishing with a laminar paste layer surface. It looks great initially, which is wonderful, but the process is not suitable for this climate. Never even a proper evaluation, simply a ‘blame the customer’ - ‘I never make mistakes’ attitude.

Jake Devine and Montana Mud Studs did a pour and finish on a monolithic concrete slab for a garage. We were very pleased with the promptness of their services, both in returning our inquiry for an estimate, in scheduling the job, and their arrival at the job site. They answered our questions quickly and completely. They did a fine job with the finishing, power troweling every hour for several hours. It looks fantastic! After being told that no one in Butte does good concrete work, I am happy to say that I have found someone I will definitely call on for future concrete needs.
