2nd time staying, good spot. Close to everything and the port. Rooms are small and washrooms are clean. Beds are ok and i love the roll into the centre. Staff are friendly and the drinks are dear. Overall if you can put up with the noise till 3am your laughing. 11am checkout suits great also

Room was tiny and far too hot to sleep in. It was basically a cupboard with a bed inside, we could barely move. The staff member on the desk was neither friendly nor knowledgeable. Location is good and the showers were nice.

Good location.Staff were helpful and friendly.Showers and rooms were clean and showers were good.Rooms are saunas. Do not stay here if you want to sleep or remain hydrated. Also incredibly noisy from the street outside. No lift either so no good for anyone with mobility issues. There are much nicer places for the same money such as the YWCA.

Overall, my stay here was o.k. The location and price are the best things about this place. I think lots of the trade offs are worth it, but I did wake up a couple times in my sleep from people walking around (noise travels a ton from the halls doors opening and all that). It was hot cause no a/c, but I don't care for the money saved. I'd just bring earplugs if I came back. It's not a great place if you're looking for somewhere to bring your family.

This is a safe place to sleep at night, that’s it. The room was hot and stuffy, and very noisy from the bar below and staff were noisy while cleaning at 8am. The pillows were very flat and lumpy. The service was alright and the bathrooms were clean.

DON’T GO THERE!We booked a night for 190$ for 2 one private bedroom and it was the worst night of our life in hostel. The room for couple is street side and SO SO NOISY all the night! Even when the window is closed. When we close the windows there is no air in the room, no ventilation system! We missed air to breathe! The room is no hot it’s horrible to sleep there to be honest. We asked to have a quiet room on the other side a week before and nobody check the note on our reservation and when we arrived there was no quiet room. The service is so bad.The answer of the hostel is we are the chippest hostel in town and here it’s Vancouver it’s expensive. We also did London, New York, Sydney and nothing to compare to that night.

Great little hostel- most of the other reviews have covered that the rooms are small and no air conditioning, noisy street ( which I love actually!). The service was exceptional and all the staff were very friendly. Please remember that hostelling in Canada is still really in the beginning phase so just not the same standards yet as europe etc. . I loved the 2 person room- great alternative to 6/8 bunk style rooms for me. Vancouver real estate is extremely expensive so nice to have a “reasonable” alternative to $350 hotel room rates!

It’s close to everything, both downtown attractions and public transportation if you want to explore the city. Staff are helping. But the building is too old and wooden floors are noisy. There is no air conditioning and if you don’t open the windows it gonna be super humid.

FYI I was staying in the 2-bed rooms. They were small but there was still plenty of space for luggage / extras. The whole space was very clean (not just the rooms, this also included the bathrooms and the kitchen area). AWESOME location - it was very close to the train station, maaaybe a 5 minute walk, and there were plenty of buses nearby. It was also close to the waterfront so if you needed to take the ferry anywhere you could. Staff were also friendly and knowledgeable. The only issues I had with it was that there weren't really any events going on (that I was aware of, at least) like there are in other hostels. Wasn't very sound-proof, so bring earplugs if noise is an issue. Breakfast was also quite late - I believe it started at 11am, so just be aware of that. Overall, a decent place to stay at.

The hostel is great for a few days stay. It is in central location a short walk from the City Centre and the Waterfront is in the other direction. The staff are friendly and are happy to assist in anyway they can and are always pleasant when you walk past. The rooms are standard dormitory style and are clean and comfortable. The shared communal bathrooms are adequate. The hostel is currently going through a refurbishment and there is currently no lounge or kitchen facilities available but a temporary dining area has been provided. This is not a problem if you are out a lot like I was. It impressed me to receive an email from the hostel manager beforehand advising of this situation so you had a choice whether to continue with your reservation. This was appreciated.Sometimes in the afternoons there was loud banging from the renovation works below but nothing of a big issue. Only once did the works start very early before 8/9am with the whole floor vibrating for a few minutes but this soon stopped.Overall, I really enjoyed staying here mainly down to the fantastic staff. It was the best hostel I stayed at during my time in Vancouver and Seattle. I would recommend highly.
