Steinbach Credit Union

Hello SCU, just want to express my frustration with the new mobile banking application. I have multiple bank accounts and was easily able to view transaction history on the old mobile banking platform. However unable to do so since upgraded. I also have my personal banking at couple banks and all have access up to 24 months. Why not SCU?

You can rarely ever talk to anyone directly. You spend hours discussing things with people who can't help and ultimately pass you to someone else. Absolutely disgraceful the way they handle estate accounts. Tired of hearing I can only apologize" ...maybe just stop doing shady things and you won't have to apologize."

Recently got the mortgage renewal document from them. On the paper there is an option for one year fixed term and will mature in March 2024. So we chose that one and sent the paper back to mortgage advisor. She never informed me that tha renewral is starting right away. My current mortgage will mature in March 2023. If I knew that starts right away I don't sign the paper. Asked her to hold on to the renewral simply replied me that sent to the second department.That's very unprofessional and misleading your client.

Would it be possible for the tellers to work any slower??? Or to careless about the length of the queue? Infuriating experience on my last two visits.

Your credit information is at risk with this credit union. I keep receiving letters from SCU that are supposed to be sent to other clients. I have asked SCU to change their clients address but letters are still being sent. If any of these letters contained sensitive information, it could be a huge risk for that client.

Really disappointed that after over a decade of banking with Steinbach I couldn’t take the bad customer service anymore. Constant communication delays, bad faith penalties when selling one home and moving to another and finally being unwilling to stand by quotes given that apparently changed during unreasonably long response times. Basically told too bad, not our problem.

I had called earlier in the week to make an appointment to set up a new account. The person who answered my call said an appointment wasn’t necessary, but I could make one if I wanted.I did prefer this instead of a walk in, as then I won’t have to wait and waste my time. So I booked one.Day of appointment, I googled the bank branch to look up their address and see they close at the time my appointment was ‘scheduled.’ I called and they couldn’t explain why the other representative had given me an appointment at closing time.Thank goodness I didn’t drive all the way there. But it is frustrating, as I could have made other planes Not sure if I will be banking with them now, but this really isn’t a good start...

I spent hours on the phone with suicide prevention last night because of money problems. I had managed to find a way to solve my problems and pay those that need it, but SCU put a 7 day hold on the cheque deposit. This has now resulted in a lack of a roof over my head. When I called to request the hold be removed so I can take care of business, I was told that due to my credit rating they could not do that. I am TRYING to fix my credit rating by paying the people that I need to, but I Can't do that if there is a hold on my account!!!!

I could not reach SCU by phone so I went into the branch to explain a problem with their website: Every time I sign in, it kicks me out, but the 2nd time it works. The receptionist told me someone would help me. Before that person even said hello" he unlocked my password and insisted I change it. After an hour of accusing me of entering passwords incorrectly he finally heard me explain the problem and allowed me to demonstrate it. Hopefully someone will address the website issue. As for me

Tried to just be added to my partners account who is already a member. But they didn’t inform me prior to pulling my credit that you need to be above the a certain credit score to even open a account there… If I would of known that i would of checked before hand and not waste a hour of my time there.
