Welch’s is a new tradition when coming through Waterton! We hadn’t set foot on the first step before we were greeted and served some great coffee to the smell of fresh double chocolate chunk cookies. We were just on our way out, it was the last stop on our trip and I’m so glad we did! My heart was so full because of how joyful and friendly the lady was (forgot to ask her name!) Definitely stop by for a coffee and a treat! Thank you so much Welch’s!

The lady was extremely rude. We were looking at the pies and thinking about which one we wanted to try and I kid you not she called us “chicken” when we were hesitating about what we wanted to get. She told us the slices were 7.95. We went with a slice of blueberry pie and she asked if we wanted whipped cream and wanted it heated up so we said yes. She heated it up and put whipped cream on it and suddenly the price was 9.50. Tried the pie and it was worse than store bought pie. Don’t go to this place.

Candy stores should be a magical place. The Les dispenser collection is cool. I almost tried to buy one but noticed a tiny sign that said the ones on the ceiling or near the ceiling were not for sale. They could make it more apparent that those dispensers are display only. Also, Make it easier for parents to pay instead of them having to use the ATM and get charged with nearly $5 in fees between the store fee and bank fees. The atmosphere of being surrounded by the candy is pretty cool, but take some pressure off your employees and accept credit card already. The premium you charge on candy should more than cover the cost of getting a debit/credit card machine and will likely bring in more money because people won’t turn away at the door because of the cash only sign.

If there was a zero star, I’d give it a zero. It is a ripoff place. They only take cash and if you only have US dollar, their exchange rate is one US dollar to one Canadian dollar. If you don’t have Canadian dollar, don’t go. We ordered one scoop icecream, the girl who got us the icecream told us Canadian dollar 4.99, then the cashier woman charged us over 6 USD, we give her 20USD, she gave us the change in Canadian dollar. Totally ripoff.

Sweet shop and pastry shop sort of connected. Also serves coffee but nowhere to sit indoors. Positive was open to late in the season unlike other businesses.Really nice tasting home baked style cakes. But did not however want to sell us a whole one though, only sold in individual slices.Cash only.

We went in, in search of yogurt. They start serving their yogurt parfaits in a couple of weeks supposedly. There were lots of sweet treats, but others have stated that some appear stale :( The lady was so sweet and very friendly. Really wanted to help out. I don't know if I'd buy any food there but they mean good things!

Who wouldn’t like to hear, “come on in the cofffee’s on,” by a sweet lady as you sleepily approach the porch. It was the perfect cap to our stay in Waterton. Her shop smelled like fresh baked cookies, and with 5 different pots of coffee to choose from. She had a beautiful display of homemade pies and treats. We were on our way home early in the morning. It was old fashioned hospitality and kindness at its best. We had a lovely chitchat before she wished us safe travels and said, “Be kind wherever you go!” Thank you for YOUR kindness!

Asked for a receipt because the price seemed steep for the three items we had (two small candies and a chocolate was apparently $22). Lady seemed flustered at first that we asked, then gave us the wrong receipt. So we asked for our receipt again and she ended up ringing us through once more (growing annoyed with us even though every customer is technically entitled to a receipt of their OWN purchase). Turns out she was charging more than the price tag on the candies we bought and when asked she was dismissive on it and was basically rushing us out the door. Considering we were just generally curious and not being pushy (because honestly I hate confronting people on these things), customer service definitely could use some work at this place as well as transparency with prices. In the end it seems the values are questionable and it’s a way they can grab more money from tourists that are just happy to be there. (Not to mention they’re cash only with the ATM charging you a price that only goes to the owner). They rely on no one asking questions or calling them out. In the end we paid whatever but what bothered me most was how we were treated and that basic principles of customer service are not followed at this place. They seem a little suspicious with how they run their business on the finance aspect as well coming from someone with an accounting background.Anyways, make sure to ask for a receipt and watch how much they’re charging you!

Utter chaos inside. Poor service and you find out it’s cash only once you get to the register (no signs indicating cash only). To which they point you to the ATM that’s directly beside the cash register and have to pay a $2.50 fee for the ice cream flavour you didn’t ask for but it was too busy so you just took it.

This is a cash only place, but they have an ATM available. Prices seem pretty high but this is a touristic place/ area. I don’t mind paying extra if I get good service which wasn’t the case today. There was no greeting when we walked in. The young lady at the ice cream counter was pretty shy (which is fine) she did answer all our questions (she gets the *), however at the checkout counter the lady was like a bulletproof door. She should be working in a prison and not in a candy store ! This is not what people walk-in for. It should be a pleasant experience from entry to exit. I’m not sure if she is the owner or what but if she is she will not last long, if she isn’t, the owner should pay a visit more often to see how their patrons are treated.Ice cream cup with 2 scoops was $9.95 , small licorice bag $6.95.Ice creams tasted okay.
