Becoming Maverick Canine Training & Behavioural Modification

Breanne really helped with our dog Jasper’s reactive behaviour. Jasper was so much better when he returned from training. It’s really made a difference for our family.

I came to Bree because my rescue dog had a very strong prey drive which made going on walks very difficult. Bree was very knowledgeable about different tools to use to help train my dog, and she was very patient when teaching me how to use each tool. She went above and beyond to work with me both in person and over the phone when I was in a different city, and she always answered my questions via text when I needed.I came into the experience a bit nervous that I wouldn’t use the tools she recommended correctly and would end up hurting my dog. Bree really helped to ease my anxieties and even showed me how to use the tools on herself first and encouraged me to do the same so I would feel more comfortable knowing I wasn’t hurting my dog. She made the whole experience extremely positive and my dog absolutely loves her!After training with Bree, my dog’s hunting behaviour has improved immensely. It is an amazing feeling knowing that I can take my dog off leash and be confident that she won’t run off and get lost or hurt. My dog also responds to me better now and actually listens to my commands lol. I have a much stronger relationship with my dog because of Bree.You won’t regret training with her! It’s worth every Penny.

I met Bre through a friend when I was looking for a puppy after moving to Alberta in August and found out she had a 6 month old Husky Shepard (which was a dog I had been wanting for many years!) that was needing a foster to adopt! Goose was his name and it sure did suit his personality! Bre wanted nothing but the best home for him and someone who would take his needs into consideration. Goose is a very curious, brave and outgoing dog but is also nervous around strangers. I took on the challenge because the day I met him knew he was me in a dog form. Fast forward to December and Goose has not only grown in size but has become one of the best barn dogs, off leash hiking partner, snuggle bug and guard dog. His personality shines through for not only me to see now but daily makes more and more friends with people on the streets. He has become even braver and comfortable in his surroundings and I still can’t believe how different of a dog he has become since day 1, and get reminded daily that as he helped me transition to my move across the country I got to help him even more. To this day I still always can reach out if I need help or questions or doggy okay dates with his old brother that Bre still has❤️

We started working with Bre when we moved to Calgary and she has been such a great support for us with our dog, Roxy. She picked up where our previous trainer left off and was able to pick up on some subtle behaviour cues that were new to us. We’ve done some tune up sessions to work on Roxy’s anxiety and have been able to integrate the suggestions Bre provided into our routines. Roxy absolutely adores Bre and Maverick and makes it an easy decision of where she stays when we travel. Lucky to be a part of their pack!

What can I say? Bre saved our way of life. She has a pure soul and a remarkable way of working with both dogs and people. From anxious, aggressive, unable to be let off leash, zero recall (added bonus a mess of an owner full of self doubt and lack of knowledge), bre helped us discover our full potential. Now my bugs and I are off leash walks, entering clinic settings to bring cheer to my patients, paddle boarding, hiking (you name it bugs and I are there). We went from ugly stares to frequent compliments on “how trained he is”, “he is such a. Good dog”, “so calm”.Bre has most importantly, met my curiosity and willingness to learn with open arms and has encouraged my growth as a canine parent.I can’t recommend her enough. Willing to learn? Breanne has completely transformed Max and I’s life. As a first-time dog owner, I had very little knowledge on how to raise my puppy. My dog Max soon became reactive, destructive, and impatient. He even got kicked out of daycare for being a bully to other dogs. I went through countless trainers with no success. All of this changed when I met Bre.After our first training session, I quickly saw massive improvements in Max’s temperament. As our training progressed, we built a solid recall, heel, and place. Max can now calmly and confidently walk by other dogs, come when called, and he will happily rest in his crate or on his bed. Bre not only transformed Max but transformed me as well. I went from anxiously hiding in the bush on walks to avoid passing dogs, to now seeing it as a positive training opportunity. I now enjoy walking Max, going on off-leash adventures, and bringing him along when I ride my horses.Bre is always ready to help and truly wants the best for her clients. I highly recommend Bre to any dog parent. Her knowledge and experience are fascinating, and she is amazing to work with. Max and I are forever thankful to train with Breanne.

If someone would have told me back in summer 2021 what our life with our girl Saeda (rescue German shepherd mix) would be like after our board and train with Becoming Maverick, I wouldn’t believe them. Breanne didn’t only help us become the leader our dog needed, she taught us how to communicate leadership in the language a Canine understands. As a result Saeda and I have become a team that is able to handle situations I never thought we ever could. The most amazing part in it all is; I have learned so much about myself. Boundaries, effective communication, self care, mindfulness and much much more. Using consistent communication, patience and love, Bre has helped my family learn how to lead a canine in the way they need and want to be lead. Saeda’s growth is always evolving and it all started with our board and train. Bre came to help us safely blend two large older dogs into our family. I wanted to make sure everyone was as safe and comfortable as possible because we already had two cats and a child in our home. Bre came in, assessed our needs and the dogs needs, and developed a training plan for our specific situation and personalities. She was wonderful to deal with. We felt heard and her special bond with dogs was immediately evident. She has a calm demeanor that put the dogs and us at ease. Her extensive knowledge of canine and human behavior and methods of training were invaluable. She passed that knowledge to us so we could accommodate each individual dog’s needs and they are now thriving.
