After reaching out to a few local companies in regards to finding my true property lines for a new fence. I was shocked by the price given by this company. I was quoted over email that the task would cost between $690-$900. I scheduled for them to come on a day I was home from work. The date was set,but i was given no estimated time for the job. I was given the response that the time would be set the afternoon before. The evening prior to the set date, I received no update for the next days appointment. I had told them I was available anytime after 9am. The following morning, I awoke at 930am to the crew already doing the job. When i greated the two workers, I asked when they arrived and I was told before 9am. The job went to about 4pm and I was completely satisfied with the two gentlemen's conduct at my property. The following day I contacted the company to request my invoice. I was shocked to see the bill was $1800 before tax. The company had issued a deduction of nearly $500 for having an incorrect estimate and the job taking longer then expected. My reduced bill was $1400. I communicated with the office staff how unacceptable it was to have a quote for $690-$900 and not be told of hourly rates applied for tasks done in office and on my property. Had this information been given to me prior, I would have most likely sought-after a different company as their prices would have been cheaper then what my final outcome was. I informed the office staff that I felt taken advantage of. They completely lured me by giving me a false estimate, and once the task is complete, I'm forced to pay a Bill nearly double my expectations. I wasn't about to refuse to pay a Bill after the task was complete. The company reduced another hour of labour. The finalized Bill was $1200. I would never recommend this company. The field staff were the only reason why I'm giving a 2 star. The office environment and perhaps ownership severely let this company down. Do not request this company unless you would learn from my mistake and have a written contract so as not to get duped by shadey tactics. Todays housing prices and costs to maintain a home force people to do their best to budget. Not everyone would have been able to pay a bill nearly double the expected outcome.
