This place is awesome for birding. Although I saw way to many people here which kind of ruins the purpose of enjoying nature wand wildlife watching it was still a nice place for birding.

French Basin Trail
The French Basin Trail has lovely views and a very peaceful atmosphere. I saw more Bufflehead than anyone could dream of and the brown ducks (forget the type) were cute too. Saw a muskrat right away! There were some nice benches to sit and watch the ducks and as always the mountain views are charming. Trail itself is very easy and is accessible for wheelchairs etc. About 30 min loop but I spent much longer watching the ducks.

Incredible little trail loop! We just moved here and we're very impressed. Beautiful sites, lots of birds, and even some very human-i different muskrats who walked right by us. Love this little nature reserve. Hope more people use this trail. Also, a great off-leash dog park right before this trail begins if you're coming from Annapolis Royal.
