I could not be happier with the experience I had working with Josh to construct the exact style and fit leather jacket that I envisioned (which turned out to exceed my expectations btw). I paid what I believe most people would consider as more expensive than usual for a genuine leather motorcycle jacket, but only because I chose to add on the highest quality pads, extra vents, extensive tailoring, cinches, reflective strips, (Josh will work with you to add anything you want to add to your jacket), etc. What I paid is absolutely fair in my opinion, I’m extremely happy with the result. The jacket took about 6 weeks to get to me from the order send-off date, and the wait was 100% worth it; you can’t be disappointed with your order since it WILL turn out either exactly how you imagine it, or in my case, better than you imagined it to.

I had been on the lookout for a new leather jacket and had already visited a few stores by the time I went to Rubber side down. Joshua was very personable and chatted with me and my friend for a while. When I learned that Joshua was able to do custom designed jackets I immediately showed him a picture of a Jacket I fell in love with 2 years previous at a motorcycle show. Back then there were none in my size and the jacket subsequently was not produced again.Joshua was able to replicate its look and even added extra pockets on the interior lining per my request. With my body measurements the jacket fit perfectly from the first moment I put it on. I am pretty broad shouldered and previous jackets that fit my shoulders would be too wide and loose around my waist. The custom jacket from RSD immediately put a smile on my face when I put it on.If you are in the market for a leather jacket to keep you safe and comfortable on your ride, I suggest checking out RSD. It was a bit of a drive for me from North Van but I am very happy I made the trip out!

I just received the most amazing package from Josh. It was our new custom motorcycle jackets. To say the least I am thrilled! My husband and I are both tough fits and Josh not only made the process easy but made very helpful suggestions along the way. We first purchased from RSD 5 years ago and have put 25k miles on our jackets and decided we really should get some new ones. The order process was quick and we got exactly what we were hoping for again. We love the convertible denier jackets in the Florida weather….start the morning with full winter liner and by midafternoon you are down to mesh. With nearly a full season on my custom leathers, I have ridden in all kinds of weather, and on different bikes. I stopped in and met Josh to see about custom riding Jeans for my wife. Not intending to buy boots but my riding buddy and I both bought a pair when we saw the quality and pricing. Have worn them for a while now and we both found them well made from high quality leather , comfortable and well armoured. If you're looking for a new pair well worth having a look.Josh helped with the measuring for the jeans and we placed the order. It took a while but they arrived and fit perfect. Well made and again well armoured with hip, knee and Kevlar lining.You may have to check ahead before visiting as Josh seems pretty busy but well worth the effort.

I had been searching for a good looking high-vis jacket for over a year (with no luck) when I came across Rubber Side Down's custom jackets. Thank you for the incredible jacket and great customer service! Josh was very helpful and every step of the process, from taking measurements to discussing design details, was easy and enjoyable. The jacket has a ton of great pockets and multiple vents to keep cool on summer rides. There are also two removable liners, one thermal and one waterproof, which make for a very versatile jacket. I also opted to upgrade the armor to CE level 2 D30. I am very pleased with the quality and fit of my jacket and would highly recommend Rubber Side Down to anyone looking for custom motorcycle clothing.

Awesome Place!I have bought a pair of fabric pants, leather gauntlets and had a custom made leather jacket.Prices are good for off the shelf gear. For custom gear prices are great!I would recommend RSD for gear!Also, the owner Josh is a nice guy who takes the time with you to get stuff right.Re Review:I have now had the jacket for about 2 months now and it fits perfectly. Armor stays where it should, and feel very comfortable.The Jacket broke in quite well and I am very happy with my purchase (and Josh's insight regarding fit).

I just bought a 2 piece Cordura suit from RSD. The quality of the suit is fantastic. It's extremely well designed, and built with high quality materials.You just need to look at the specs to see that RSD's products punch far above their weight in terms of material quality. The materials and build quality are equal or better than big brand names like Alpinestars or Klim.Josh is a great guy too. You can tell he has a real passion for designing and selling a great product.Highly recommended.
