The Suites at Waskesiu

Wow shocked by some of the reviews for this place. Stayed here in August of 2020 in a suite big enough for two small families. Room was clean and the bed in our room was comfy. Used the BBQ one night and it had almost no heat. The owner came to the room and swapped BBQs himself so we could grill our food. Location is borderline unbeatable.

I come here every year. Clean, comfortable place with everything you need plus more. We stayed in suite 204, which is notably larger than most of the suites. I have a blast every year but this suite is my favourite!-1 bedroom, 1 loft, and a pull-out couch.- fridge/freezer, cooking pots and utensils-sink/dishwasher-Barbeque-bath and shower

We were expecting a king size bed, it may have been a double or queen. The quality of the mattress was the worst mattress I ever slept on. This is not an exaggeration. Unable to get internet to work. Coffee maker was provided but no coffee grounds as in other hotels in the qrea for cheaper nightly rate. I was advised by hotel staff to go to the store for coffee grounds. Tub had inadequate safety precautions and due to slippery tub my wife fell while having a shower. Toilet ran continuously unless you lifted handle. Bedroom had no independent A.C. so it got hot at night. Window was in parking lot and walkway so if you opened it to cool down room people walked right next to your window. No daily Cleaning as in most hotels. Cleaning only available upon request including turning in towels from 9 to 10 am and we missed it!The parking lot was cramped and my vehicle mirror was damaged even though it was retracted due to small spaces. On the positive side the room was spacious and clean and the hotel staff seemed friendly. Disappointed with amenities for 250 dollars a night!

Beware if you stay here with your pet!!Stayed a couple of days in mid-July 2022 after a gong-show trying to connect with Ted. I was charged a nightly fee of $10 to have my dog stay also. I notified Ted (hotel Manager) the second day that my dog had urinated on the carpet. I did not try to hide it. I did expect a bit more of a fee but not the $150 that was added to my bill! I tried to neogotiate with Ted but no go - said he had to drive to PA to rent a carpet cleaner! What? This hotel doesn't have a carpet cleaner on hand? I was not pleased that they gouged with the outrageous price & nothing mentioned in their policy. Even a Marriott only charges $100 for cleaning!!

This place is right in the middle of the action. Right behind the general store. All the suites are spacious and have well-equipped kitchens. BBQs you can use too. The 2 bed suites are really cool with multi level design. Owner is very friendly and attentive. Stayed here twice and would again. Bedspreads have fish and moose on them - very appropriate.

The rooms are in disrepair and the customer service is awful. We had our holiday booked for over 6 months before they apparently bumped our reservation for other guests. No communication from management. I’d definitely recommend looking elsewhere.

So disappointed in the new management. We have been booking every year for the past 13 years and had done the same for this year. We booked early as usual. We didnt hear anything and after many attempts to contact someone, we were told our reservation was cancelled as they are holding the rooms for a possible convention. Now we are too late to book anywhere else. Would have been so good to know this back in January...So much for customer loyalty.

I plan a trip to Waskesiu every summer and thought I would give this place a try. At the beginning of March I filled out their online form to book a room. they answered a few days later saying they had a room available for those dates and to give them a call. Well three phone calls later where I've left a voicemail each time, they have yet to call me back. Left them another email last week, only for them to finally respond that they are all booked up. I'm glad I was still able to get a room at my usual place. I will never try to book from this place again

We had booked two rooms over a year in advance and recieved multiple confirmations, but they cancelled our reservation with short notice without telling us. We had to call them to confirm we still had a room, and they said no they had given them away for a teacher's conference... We had been coming here annually for over 20 years. Just terrible treatment.Careful booking here, you might not actually have a room.

Pretty pricey but it is what it is. Wanna stay at Waskesiu and all other cabins/hotels are booked up? Gotta pay, but I mean you get what u pay for. We stayed at the deluxe loft and it was beautiful. They renovated just recently. They basically have everything; Stove, fridge, coffee maker, BBQ, etc. Even a jacuzzi in the bathroom. We took our bikes up on the trip and they even gave us a key to use for their garage. Location I would say is in the middle of everywhere you would want to go at Waskesiu. The cherry on top was Big Olaf's, ice cream shop, was below us!
