NB Power
I paid my entire energy bill off - $900 in the last 10 days, the remainder of the overdue amount was paid this afternoon....a huge thing for me bc I am a single mom on Social Assistance - I tried calling when I got home at 5:05 pm and they are closed. and at 6:10 pm tonight they send me that AMAZING automated message that my account is urgently overdue! I'M SO SURE........... I don't even get that message when my account is at $850 - Why send me when I paid IN FULL. Plus I keep having to ask for paper bills sent to me by regular mail and half the time they don't even send me a bill until I'm about to get disconnected. I've waited 2 1/2 months sometimes for my paper bill from NB Power. I'm going hungry so I can get on equalized billing while someone thinks it is funny??? You don't even want to know what words I have for them. Energy is almost free to make and we all pay for it! If some 'Worker' there thinks it is a joke that I paid my entire bill off & placed that call to me anyway - I imagine they must look as miserable as they behave...

I called NB Power in wee hours of the morning when a hot water heater line busted and the tank completely drained. The line goes into the bottom of your water heater and is the cold inlet to hot inside the heater.I had to replace part of the inline as it had sprung a leak.when I repaired it the weight of the copper line they installed which was heavy pulled the bottom line into the heater and leaked then broke off.It was very heavy ,mostly 3/4 copper pipe that was not supported, just free standing.Basically a problem waiting to happen.Pipe strapping is not expensive,so why not support the heavy pipes.Anyways the CSR told me my service request was put into play and would have a person contact me when they could repair or replace it.Waited most the day from 8 am to 3 pm wondering what was going on.The NB Power rep gave me no info as to what my request was neither filed nor contacted by contractor who repairs them. After she transfers me to the contractors receptionist,I explain my issues and she tells me that they never received my work order as NB Power's system was down earlier.Seriously, why the hell could NB Power rep not tell me this? Now I have to wait until tomorrow from 1-3 pm to get the work done as contractor was booked solid for today with service calls.Too bad NB Power doesn't read these reviews or act on other complaints. They seem oblivious to anything outside their little bubble.Even if one complained to NB Power it would likely fall on def ears.Too bad they have no competition as it would cure them of their superiority complex.

I guess I'm one of the rare ones that hasn't had a problem with NB Power - given the reviews seen here. Maybe NB Power should create a series of commercials or a documentary on what happens behind the scenes ex: during a power outage, how bills are calculated etc. I know it won't change some people's minds on the corporation; however in my mind it couldn't hurt.

NB power is a joke.NB power charges to have your meter tested for accuracy. The meters should be tested every 2 years for accuracy and paid for by NB power. If they can charge $600-$800 a month for electricity they can certainly pay for the service. If it smells like fish...tastes like fish....chances are.. it is fish. This past year NB power tried to make it mandatory to tax citizens to repair any storm damage. What a bunch of fools- maybe we should implement a new tax to charge NB power for providing unhealthy power meters.Time for a change everyone.
