Edmonton Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine

After years and years of wanting to seek naturopathic medicine I came across this clinic. I have only been twice to see Dr. Janet Trieu. First of all, the place is in a convenient location and easy to get to. Secondly, the atmosphere right when you walk in is absolutely comfortable, professional with a lovely atmosphere. Dr. Trieu has made me feel like I am not just another patient and makes you feel anxious free but also knowing that she has your best interest. I have many healthy issues that she is working with me. And has assured me that she will help me with everything I need. She is very professional, knowledgeable and understanding. The staff are also very kind and are helpful. I highly suggest this place, and don’t recommend on waiting any longer to seek holistic help from a highly reputable clinic.

Penny is the greatest masseuse in the history of masseuses. I've had many massages from many different therapists and my results with Penny have been wonderful. She always remembers you and your problem areas. She's forceful when she needs to be but always ends gently. I hated cupping the first time she did it. She worked with me to find a method I could handle - and now I love it!Also get acupuncture here from Andrea. Her treatments are so beautiful and relaxing. Sometimes it feels as much like therapy as acupuncture with her.The clinic is always as warm as the people.The person below is an outlier for sure. Seeing their (ridiculous, misspelled) review encouraged me to review this amazing clinic!! Not to mention, she has a second review at a second naturopath clinic giving 1 star for also recommending she go to a pharmacy.

I have been going to the Edmonton Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine for about 5 years for acupuncture for my migraines. Andrea is superb at her job and is so very calming. My migraines have eased immensely since I started seeing Andrea. The staff is so friendly and helpful whenever I had questions about their services.

I have had such a wonderful experience as a patient of Dr. Janet Trieu. I began seeing her when a lot of my systems were failing me (reproductive, digestive, immune etc). My cycles were very irregular. I was exhausted. I was bloated and improperly digesting my food. My skin was periodically breaking out. And to make matters worse, I was super anxious and hard of myself for not feeling vibrant and healthy.Dr. Trieu made me feel heard and took all my concerns seriously. At first I felt uneasy sharing personal details, but she never once judged me and has always been so understanding and kind.I kid you not, within a week of seeing Dr. Tieu, my period returned, and I’m happy to say my cycles have been regular for 6 months! We were able to identify my food intolerances and my digestion is waaay better (though, I’ll admit it’s a struggle to avoid cheese sometimes, haha!). My skin looks pretty good. I have more energy and most importantly, I feel in control of my health and wellbeing.Some key points that made a HUGE difference for me:• As a young professional, I don’t have loads of money to spend on remedies and supplements. Dr. Trieu always keeps that in mind and gives me options.• We always discuss what is realistic and manageable for me, and if I mess up (which happens), there is no judgement.• Dr. Trieu has drawn diagrams of my gut lining and gone above and beyond to explain the science behind her recommendations! She never speaks down to me or brushes over any of my questions.• If I ask her about things I’ve explored myself or read online, she is super open, but gives me her research-backed opinion and tells me honestly when I’m wasting my time and money!• She has a great sense of humour and I always leave her office feeling inspired to take good care of myself.I highly recommend her to anyone seriously struggling with their health or even just feeling ‘blah’. For anyone curious, I have been seeing Dr. Janet Trieu for over a year and a half, and have been a patient at the Edmonton Clinic of Naturopathic Medicine for 8 years. I am so grateful to have a healthcare network like the professionals here, and especially grateful for Dr. Trieu's expertise...Oh, and Penny Whitaker is the queen of massage therapy. Prior to my first visit to the clinic earlier this year, I was a lifelong skeptic regarding holistic and natural approaches to health. I tried to go into it with an open mind, but to be honest I didn't expect much. I say this just to encourage anyone considering accessing some of the services at this wonderful clinic to give it a chance. I've utilized acupuncture with Andrea, naturopathic medicine with Dr. Trieu, and psychological support from Alycia. I can say with confidence that I am not a skeptic any longer. I really don't have the words to express how deeply this clinic has changed my life. I feel so much more empowered and in charge of my own life and health. I have had nothing but the warmest and most compassionate care from every member of the team, including the wonderful front desk staff. Walking into the building always feels like stepping through the door to a second home and I am so grateful to everyone who has helped me and made me feel so welcome and safe. I feel like I have discovered my own innate ability to move towards full health of mind, body, and spirit, and this clinic was absolutely instrumental while I was on that path. I really can't say enough positive things about my experience!

I was recommended by a coworker at work to Janice Dacyshyn. After our initial phone conversation which was about an hour in may, we discussed my concerns. We had a plan to follow up with lab work and she emailed me some pamphlets about diet changes. I got busy with work at the hospital and hadn’t been able to follow up as I had planned, didn’t hear from the clinic or Janice about follow up appointments or how my health status was going. I did however receive multiple emails about paying an invoice, which I apologize took me longer than necessary. After I paid the invoice I reached out to Janice’s office in July to review and have a further plan for action and have not heard a word since. Not the best experience with paying out of pocket for naturopath medicine, I would recommend others to definitely do more research about what exactly you get in appointments and what follow up plans of care are.

This clinic is a lifesaver!! After struggling with digestive and stomach issues for a long time and then a really bad bout of it that had me in the hospital, I decided to come here and I am so very very thankful for that. Dr. Janet Trieu was so amazing, from the very beginning she seemed genuinely concerned with my health and wanting to help me get better. She spent so long with me at my first appointment which was much appreciated because she took the time to explain everything in detail rather than rushing me out of her office. I did the elimination diet for a month and I couldn't be more pleased with how good I feel after doing everything she recommended. Throughout the entire process she was there if I had any questions, even if it was something simple like sending her a picture of something to ask if it was okay to eat. I just went back for a follow up appointment and Janet was just as excited as I am about how good I've been doing. She is so caring and friendly and extremely knowledgeable. Definitely the best doctor I've ever seen, I can't thank her enough!!

I’m very thankful to be a patient of Dr. Janet Trieu’s for 2 years now. I’ve had on-going symptoms for 10 years that I’ve discussed with my regular doctor and just haven’t had the care that I’ve received from Dr. Trieu. I am more knowledgeable about my health than ever and I’m happy to say my symptoms are actually improving for the first time. I am now pregnant with my first child and again Dr Trieu has provided me much needed information missing from my first GP visit. I always leave her office feeling better knowing she has my best interests at heart. I will continue to work with her along with my regular GP for years to come.

Andrea is great at acupuncture and cupping. Helped me get some mobility back in my shoulder when nothing else helped. Penny is a good massage therapist that also uses cupping. She incorporates a heating pad to help losing shoulder and back muscles while she works on your legs.

It's been a year now since we have had Dr. Trieu become our Doctor and we couldn't be happier. She has taught us a healthier way of living, mentally, emotionally, and physically. We are in a better place today than we were a year ago and continue to use the education she has taught us to continue living this great healthy lifestyle. Dr. Trieu has always been there for us even after work hours when we needed her expertise immediately. Would recommend her for a Naturopath to anyone.
