I can't believe I got done like they did. I was served a roti in a tortilla bread. Legit Mexican style tortilla bread, with a very liquid and very bland bony soup for filling.I have wrote a 5 star review in the past for this place because everything was excellent from the oxtail to the roti.25$ for a soaked tortilla with soup for filling.Zero pride for even letting that pass your counter.I have my favorite places for roti in many cities that I have been going to for over 25 years and came back here because the 1st time was good.Same people at the counter, not the same food.As a true foodie, that was the lowest of the low I have witnessed in years.

Food was tasty enough quantity is decent. Both the chicken roti and the oxtail were a bit dry. The rice and peas were not true Jamaican style rice and peas.

I was looking for Caribbean food and decided to try food here. I ordered online with Uber eats which made it super easy for me :). I was pleasantly surprised with the layout of the food and further, the delicious taste. I had jerk chicken- which was not like real Jamaican burn your mouth jerk but it was tasty nonetheless. Portion size was just right. I will definitely recommend and even try another meal.

They hook up my plantain n everything! I'm used to a strong kick from the beginning but a few minutes after the flavors kick up my mouth like Jackie Chan very pleased with these guys

The food was actually very flavourful. The issue that I had was that, the way they have their menu set up in the skip app was, very misleading. The curry goat roti is under the “other meats” section where, it states that “all other meats come with 2 sides” that never came. I paid $23 for a soggy wrap that had very little meat and veggies and 4 bones! I called the restaurant and they were not pleasant to deal with. They just said that it’s the skip apps mistake and that I’m basically out of luck! They said next time you order from here we will do “something” for you, to which I replied, “I’m sorry but, I’m never ordering from you again” fool me once…

Yeah I have ordered a total of 6 times and after last night, I am definitely done ordering with them. Not sure if someone new is working there or what happened but my large oxtail (there was only 5 pieces; 2 large and 3 small bony pieces, funny thing is I specified in my message on uber to add more meat but although I wasnt even expecting more, I certainly was NOT expecting to be vindictively shortchanged after paying 53 dollarrs), my chicken patties were extremely dry/stale and i couldn't even bite into the edges. It had clearly been sitting in whatever heating chamber for hours. My plantains were OK but they also tasted like they were prepared many hours ago. Long story short, my first few orders were amazing hence why I was a repeat customer but after their last two orders ESPECIALLY last night's, I would be a complete fool to waste my hard earned dollars on their food. Very disappointed to be honest

My first time trying Polly's today. I had low expectations after reading the handful of poor reviews and coming Toronto where there are a slew of great Carribean/Jamaican restaurants. But I was craving jerk and wanted to give this place a shot nonetheless.I ordered a large jerk chicken. I expected the chicken to be day(s) old and didn't expect much in terms of flavor complexity. 1. Because this isn't the busiest of restaurants and 2. Because I have yet to find a great jerk restaurant in Calgary.I was pleasantly surprised when I got home and found the chicken was moist, firm and fresh. The BBQ flavor came through, the jerk is spot on with just the right amount of spice - actually really great jerk chicken! The rice was moist enough, fewer beans than I am used to, but no complaints here. The portion is what you would expect from a Large.I hope to keep coming here moving forward, but there are a couple of things I was dissapointed with:The menu reads that this comes with 2 sides. I opened the box at home and found no sides whatsoever; no coleslaw, no plantains, no dumplings, no salad, NOTHING. Would have been nice if the restaurant staff said something about this or gave me a discounted price. The large jerk chicken is $22.00. at this price, I can't afford to visit as many times as I would want. And at this price I would expect a couple of sides.I hope the restaurant will address these issues as I plan to continue to support them and I hope they stay in business.
