Whitby Paint - Benjamin Moore Paints

The owners are rude and non attentive. Third time I have been in the store and again a sour unhelpful experience. The showroom looks like a storage area. The Franchise need to take a look at this store and put in the right people. Any other Benjamin Moore store has been great.

FABULOUS CUSTOMER SERVICE.... Even for, as it turned out, a non-customer!For several weeks I had been trying to track down a type of Benjamin Moore paint in short supply with no luck.  Everywhere I tried was out of stock but it was on order and the store personnel, in several locations, were hopeful of getting a re-supply imminently.  But it never happened.  Finally, I decided to get on the phone and contact as many stores as possible moving further afield from my location.  Eventually, I contacted Whitby Paint and the person who answered gave me the usual news... out of stock but on order. Before hanging up, out of frustration, I asked if they had any ideas.  After a minute's thought, the person said that possibly a new store that they knew of might have been stocked by Benjamin Moore with a full complement of their products in all sizes and gave me the location of the store.  I thanked them and hung up and started to look for a phone number.About 3 minutes later, my phone rang and to my surprise it was the person at Whitby Paint.  He said that he had just called the store he referenced and found out they had 2 quarts of what I was looking for !!!!  Not only was it great news but probably the best example of customer service that I have ever encountered.  Even though there was no possibility of a sale by them, they went well out of their way to assist me.  The more I thought about it, the more I realized that it should not go un-noticed.... thus this posting/review.Thank you very much, Whitby Paint !!!

We moved her in June and got all the paints from Benjamin Moore. It's been now a long time and we are seeing a few noticeable peels on the walls. Not a huge deal but we paid a lot for this paints. It should have better quality for the price. We got the Aura of I am not mistaking. Color quality is great and will most likely use it again. Do your dining shopping and try a few other brands. Keep in mind this is not a bad option.

The only good thing about this store is the quality of paint. I don’t know what it is about the staff here … they’re just the least helpful I’ve ever experienced. I always walk out of this store feeling frustrated and uneasy. Maybe even more stressed then when I wakes in.Definitely not a decorators store.Know what you want and need before you go in and your experience will be better.Need advice or suggestions?? The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable. Plus the paint colour can be saved on your account by room which is great for forgetful people like myself!

Not impressed with their lack of knowledge of painting, or of expertise with their own product.I painted a room five years ago with pearl finish; now needed to do the inevitable patching. They assured me I would need to do it in pearl again -- even though I said the sheen had diminished greatly. They have discontinued that sheen, so I bought a GALLON of paint (@$100) to do the patching, which was not only a much higher sheen, but a noticeably different colour. Wanted to get a sample pot to cover the patches, but they said they didn't know what sheen the sample pots were. Ended up buying a quart of flat (@35) to re-paint the patches. Which I had to do twice, in order to cover the sheen of the patches which I did in pearl sheen. Now the room looks like h**l and will have to be completely repainted. I will definitely not be buying the paint from them.

After spending around $3,000 for paint at this store, I learned the hard way that you can save a lot of money by going for cheaper option. Even though the store clerk was fully aware of my intent to paint my whole house, I was not offered the option to buy larger buckers (5 gal). I recently purchased 1 5 gal bucket of paint at Home Depot for ~$130 and it did a wonderful job painting 3 larger rooms and I still have a lot left. I spent $195 at this BM store paint 2 of the rooms. Nobody has been able to tell the difference between the rooms.I am not a professional printer but my work rivals anybody else's and believe me when I say, there are better options than Benjamin Moore paint these days.

I'd give a zero rating if I could.I purchased a can of paint and noticed the colour was nothing like the swatches - not even in the same colour family.I decided to purchase the same colour from the BM store on Simcoe. It was perfect!I took the can back to the Brock store, and they refused to refund or replace the can. The technician" said their mixer may vary due to the calibration and colour variations should be expected.I should not receive a beige paint when I order grey.Save yourself the headache and go to the store on Simcoe."
