The Dog & Duck Pub and Restaurant - British Pub - MacLeod Trail Calgary | Calgary's original and most authentic English Pub and Restaurant. We are Located 1 block east of MacLeod Trail on 53rd Avenue, in an Old White House, akin to Real English Pubs. In the summer time The Dog & Duck boasts a unique garden patio, just like sitting in your own backyard. We have Live Music every Friday Night, with some of Calgary's best local bands.

I absolutely love this place! It’s so nice to come to after a day on the lake! The service is always great and the food is amazing. Such a great spot! Definitely recommend !

Honestly so disappointed in my short experience at The Dog & Duck. I was really excited to try it out, as the reviews were promising and I love the feel of a friendly neighbourhood watering hole. This place is not that. My friends and I sat down at a table, the atmosphere was extremely quiet, and we immediately became the loudest in the almost empty room as one of the members of our party was deaf and we have to talk a little louder for her to hear us. We had menus thrown down on our table without so much as a hello. When the server finally came to take our drink order, she was visibly annoyed. When I ordered a drink, she chose that moment to use the snippiest tone to ask us for our ID’s and acted surprised when we were all in our mid to late twenties. When one of my friends chose a beer that they were out of, she rudely told her “we’re out” and then got impatient and left to make the first two orders without even asking the fourth person at the table if she’d like a drink. Honestly, thank you for doing that. It gave us an excellent opportunity to choose a different restaurant. The drink was lovely, the food looks excellent from online, and it’s such a shame that the service is so terrible. I’m assuming the two people who provided such a negative experience were the owners, and we may not have been their regular crowd, but I won’t recommend this establishment to anyone, and I certainly will not return.

So disappointed. Never been there but desperately wanted a Guinness so I met my buddy there. Beer was fine, kinda cool what they do to the Guinness head but I will let you discover that if you decide to go after my review. We were both hungry but not overly, so my buddy ordered a home-made" fat stout french onion soup and I ordered a "home-made" beef barley soup. If by "home-made" you mean from a can then it was perfect. No flavor whatsoever and the french onion soup looked disgusting. The worst part

Lovely old English style pub. We sat outside on the large patio. It's old but has that atmosphere that is missing in new places. The prices and selection of food and beverages were great too.

Well, well, well, what a surprise. Stumbled on this place completely by accident. Had never heard of it before, and it's really off the beaten path. Walking in was like stepping back in time to find a pub that was the way pubs were meant to be. Warm and cozy with a hint of familiarity. Not anywhere that you'll be served a 5 start meal on fine china but much more like you would have a cozy family dinner with those you care about. It's even comfy enough to bring along a book and settle in at a corner table just for some quiet time. Definitely worth checking out for a change of pace and tasty lunch.

Popped in for some wings before a concert and the vibe wasn't as welcoming as it could have been. Service was a bit cold - took orders, brought out food and drinks and then never came back to check in; when we asked to pay we waited for the machine but ended up going to pay at the bar as no one got back to us after awhile. The establishment was not busy.The wings were dry and either too heavily seasoned or under seasoned. May have been an off day at the establishment and I hope others have had better experiences.

Amazingly decorated place and feels very much like a real English pub. Really is a hidden gem in Calgary and has so much character. Server was quick and friendly, the food and drinks were great.

If you like the old school pub feel this place is for you - the ambiance is great, and our bartender /server Taylor was fantastic. The wings are exactly what you want on a wing night - and the food service is fast. Highly recommend it for a nostalgic feel ✌️

Awesome pub in Calgary, english atmosphere, good food ( buther's burger, onion rings, chicken stripes and fries....) and very good beer!
