I had the pleasure of dining at this amazing Somali restaurant located in the heart of downtown, and let me tell you, it was an experience to remember! The food was absolutely delicious, and I have to say, the goat meat was my favorite part - it was so tender and full of flavor. I can't stop thinking about it!But it wasn't just the food that made this restaurant stand out. The customer service was beyond exceptional, making the overall experience even more enjoyable. Everyone was so nice and attentive, and it really made a difference in my dining experience. What also impressed me was how clean and well-maintained the space was. It was clear that the staff takes great care in keeping the restaurant spotless! I am SOOO thrilled to see a Somali restaurant so accessible in the core of downtown. It's so important to have diverse food options, and this restaurant definitely delivers on that front. I can't wait to return and try more of their amazing dishes. If you're looking for a delicious meal with great service and a welcoming atmosphere, look no further! :)

Ordered the half beef seqaar with a mango shake. Both were very tasty and the portion sizes were very good! Took part of my order home as I couldn't finish in one go. Prior to our main order, the server brought out lentil soup and beef samosas. Keep in mind we didn't order these, so we thought they were included. My one issue is when the bill came, we can see that we were charged for the beef samosas, not the lentil soup however. The beef seqaar was charged $1.00 more than the price on the menu ($13.00 instead of $12.00) and the mango shake price charged was $5.99 instead of the $3.50 menu price... Not sure if they hadn't had the time to update the menus yet with the price increase, but it's never nice to see you've been charged more than what you thought you would be paying. Decided not to bring it up at the time as it wasn't a drastic increase, and we really did enjoy the food

The food here is really good. I had the Beef Saqar. It comes with a large portion. The meat is well cooked and the rice was seasoned properly. I will come back for the goat meat. As any Somali restaurant the food comes with mango juice. Also if you'd like to try the milk cake it is absolutely delicious.

Had dinner here this past Sunday as I was in Corktown (which was close by) visiting some Doors Open Toronto sites. It was nice to come back to Regent Park, a neighbourhood that I really liked through previous course/project/campaign visits. The restaurant had a clean interior and easy ordering at the front counter. I had the beef stew with spaghetti, and the portion was very generous! I really liked the taste – it reminded me of the type of beef as well as spaghetti back in my hometown (both at home and in restaurants) when I was young. It’s so interesting to note the cultural commonalities, even when the cultures are geographically so far apart! On top of that, the ~$18 price also comes with a hearty lentil soup and refreshing, large glass of mango drink (the best mango drink I have had in a long time), which makes for impeccable value! I also appreciated the owner/manager coming to our table during our meal to ask about how we’re doing, especially since not many Chinese people are familiar with Somali/East African cuisine. Well, I had a great experience and would love to recommend to friends as well as visit again myself!

The food here is amazing! The meat is so soft and flavourful, plus they’re very generous with their portions. The customer service is 10/10 too. I sat down at the restaurant to eat with a couple of friends and I noticed that everyone who worked at Wanaag was extremely friendly to every single customer who walked in and really made the place feel home-y. Will definitely be eating here again and recommend everyone try it at least once
