Sandy Pond Day Use Area , Terra Nova National Park of Canada

3km loop trail, small but beauty Sandy beach and easy to hike

Sandy Pond Trail is a 3km trail that is basically flat and an easy walk on crushed stone and boardwalks. As the name suggests the trail circles Sandy Pond and offers a nice walk through the terrain with a couple of interpretive displays (some what faded).Plenty of parking at the Sandy Pond day use area and the start of the trail is at the end of the second parking lot.The walk will take about 1hr but their are some picnic tables by the water at the start of the trail so great place to eat before you walk.The trail has two bridges one about 1km in at the end of the pond and the second near the end as you approach the day use swimming area.Just before you get to the 2nd bridge there are 2 Adirondack chairs on the beach for you to take a rest and look out over the pond.The trail is open to the public but as with all facilities in national parks you will need a park permit.Enjoy the walkRestrooms are available at the day use area.

Great swimming location for young children. Very shallow.

Awesome sandy beach, though the water never gets deeper than 4 feet. Excellent pond for kids. Canoes, kayaks and paddleboats available to rent too.

Very clean and well kept area. Beautiful walking paths and beach. Plenty of amenities for travelers.

Lovely little beach. They have change rooms normal bathrooms and outhouses. If your a adult and looking for a deep swim you won't find it here I'm 5'5 and it went as far as my bellybutton and that's if your willing to go out really far. All in all nice beach and lovely trail.
