Terrible branch. One of their mortgage specialist said I am not qualified for any mortgage from big 5. She referred me to his husband, who is a mortgage broker and said he could help me with a fee. However, I got approved from RBC and Scotiabank without any issue. Don’t they have any code of conduct? Gross.

Lack of good sense of customer service. The front line staffs don’t take initiatives on helping and resolving customers’ inquiries.

They finally standardized their schedule. Always a queue, come during non-rush hour if you can.

this chinese branch is so rude. one of their manager even looks at my passport travel record for fun when i gave them for identification purposes.

I don’t even have a credit card, but my family’s been with this bank for a while.I imagine all the staff here were hired to be able to help the people who live here (mostly Asian seniors who may or may not be proficient in English). My grandma has mental problems, and they help her and show concern to my family when things seem wrong.Still, the location really shows that it lacks staff, or even a good way to reach them. They don’t really have a way to call the specific bank without going through so much automation or having to directly contact people. They close way too early to be considered 3.5/5 service. I just give them the rating for the way they’ve helped my family.

The mortgage process is slow and ineffective. They will ask you a ton of questions even you have high income level to support a $100,000 mortgage. Even when I already have $1M line of credit line with TD. They dont have a good backup for service when a Premier manager is away. Take 2 weeks to get back to you..

Out of all the HSBC branches in this area, this is one of my favourites. They offer consistently good service with weekend hours for banking convenience. Parking and line-ups can be challenging.
