JRS Surveying Inc

After receiving several estimates for surveys, we decided to go with JRS simply due to their estimated time line of 10 weeks. We paid the deposit and waited to hear from them. They didn’t start the job until well after 10 weeks. I contacted them via email or phone every week for updates on scheduling. I was told that they overbooked and were running behind. They apologized for the inconvenience. The plans were submitted to the county for review. The county made recommendations for changes that no one at JRS looked at. They went ahead and put markers in and submitted for final approval. The county came back and said it was not ok due to the prior recommended changes. Again, JRS admitted it was their fault they didn’t see and follow the recommended changes from the county. They redid plans and resubmitted to the which were approved. They reset the corner markers and submitted to the county for final approval. 39 weeks after getting our deposit for a simple 5 acre rectangle split, the county approved it. JRS actually billed me for the balance before the county commissioners meeting to approve. The surveyors who did the work smoked during an extreme drought. The son of the owner was on the crew and complained the whole time about how he didn’t want to work for his dad. This is a very unprofessional operation and I would avoid them at all costs.
