Alberta Children Hospital - Emergency

The waiting time with a baby it is ridiculous 6 hours so we just decided go the house it is too much .

I came in with my son who had a 103 fever, and a sore neck. It took an hour and 15 mins just to get registered. The line up is out the door. The wait time on the tv screen said 4 hours and 50 mins. I sat down to a mother an child next to me. The child looked like his breathing was distraught, he was throwing up and wheezing, struggling to catch his breath. I helped her get a cloth and more disposable dishes. She had told me she had been there for 9 hours and was still waiting to be seen by a doctor. This is not okay. Our healthcare system is broken. This mom even went back to ask what was taking so long and was told to go wait some more.I couldn’t t imagine waiting 9 hours to receive medical attention. I left and will try to make an appointment with my family doctor for my child. I just hope that the child got the medical help he needed.#moreneedstobedone

After 5 and a half hours of waiting, NO doctor came to see my 1 year old child. I had to leave at 2am in the morning because my child was so tired and sick. When we left, nobody said anything and couldn’t care less that a patient was leaving unattended.

Been waiting to see doctor for 16h, didn’t receive service and rudeness from the side of nurses, no medication . Kid been throwing up for 5 days and fever, it’s still not really emergency situation.Unfortunately, needed to leave without any first aid . So sorry about it, that even med personal do not really care .

Dont know how to explain about my experience here all the time and goverment should close this place and open few medical clinics. Came with my 6y old boy with fever and kind of asthma. No one cares about the patients, they just put you in room and you stay for 4 to 5 hours for nothing. All the staff having nice chat on the corners and not bother about the patients. Shame to be a calgarian. Atleast no Tylenol for him almost 5hrs.

Everyone was nice, helpful and courteous except the doctor himself. Dr.Unwala is the most useless and careless paediatrician I have ever met. He might be in the wrong profession.

Absolutely amazing staff and doctors here. If it's an emergency they WILL take you and see you right away. The care is phenomenal and I can't say enough about the kindness we received. Thank you all for your hard work and big hearts ❤

Waiting with a newborn for longer than 2 hours, having her in the car seat, in the cold waiting area!! Unbelievable!! Maybe is better to privatize health, that way we will be able to see a doctor in demand!!
