Amazing place to train martial arts! The kempo-karate classes I take are very high quality, there are lots of friendly people, and the instructors are very skilled. Great to learn self defense, I highly recommend!

This place is great! My daughter is a student here and she loves it! All the instructors are very knowledgeable, patient, and friendly. They make sure you really know the material and how to incorporate it into self defense if the case arises.

When I first walked in, I was looking for a way to break up the days spent at a desk, and help counteract the client lunches and cocktail dinners. Over a year later and I found a passion, my health is better than ever, flexibility, strength and endurance have all improved. There is a since of family at brunswick martial arts academy. A bond amongst the members, and Eric keeps his gym immaculate. He understands that we all have lives, outside of the gym. He is willing to work with you and has a program for all ages and all fitness levels.He once said, the most important belt you will ever earn is your whute belt. Because it means you got off the couch and started doing something"So get off the couch

I absolutely love this gym. I do jiu jitsu there and there wonderful. Now I've only been doing this for a while but it's fun and it's done me no wrong so. I do suggest taking lessons

Brunswick Martial Arts Academy completely changed my life. I was 67, overweight, out of shape, bad hips, bad knees, and no balance doing Tai Chi with Shihan Eric thinking this was as far as I could go in martial arts. Karate, jiu jitsu - those were way too hard at my age. Two years later I now do both –Kempo Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu as well as sword and staff. I am 100 pounds lighter, in shape, and my balance is amazingly better. I am learning self defense and I love it - all of it. Shihan Eric and the dojo at BMAA are extremely accepting. You don’t need to walk in the door in shape. You just need to walk in the door. Shihan believes martial arts is for everyone. He is dedicated to and passionate about the martial arts and teaching. One of my fellow students commented that Eric was amazing – he has been teaching for 27 years and is still just as passionate about explaining basics to a white belt as he is advanced moves to the higher belts. I have spent a lot of time at the dojo and have witnessed his interactions with the children he teaches. As a teacher for thirty plus years I appreciate what he is accomplishing with the younger students. He is patient, positive, and knowledgeable about what young kids can and cannot do. . He has high expectations for his students of all ages and those expectations are met. No one wants to disappoint Shihan☺. He has motivated me to do things I never dreamed possible. Shihan Eric, the martial arts, and the dojo have changed my life and I am immensely grateful. I highly recommend the Academy to anyone of any age interested in the martial arts, in self defense, in getting in shape. You just have to show up.
