MetCrédit - Montréal

I filed for bankruptcy in March 2015 and was discharged in November 2015. This company is still to this day trying to collect a debt that was on my bankruptcy. I've never acknowledged the debt as being legal. I contacted consumer protection and they informed me I have to send met credit"a certified letter to cease contact. My bankruptcy will be removed from my credit report in November this year. I wonder how they make money. They don't seem to know what they are doing!!? I have contact this company several times over the years and they seem to understand my bankruptcy in void for some reason. I have no further interest or incentive to contact them. If they don't respect a legal bankruptcy or the statue of limitations for collections

Initial impression is good. I got a total of 2 calls from them, second left a message but it was for a name I didn't recognize. I spoke to the receptionist and she was able to identify who I was (caller id) and that I was clearly not the person they were looking for. She said she would take my number off the list.Hopefully it sticks and I don't any more calls, but I have read the other reviews... So we shall see...

They harassed me only to find out they had the wrong number. I owe nothing. Multiple calls and texts AFTER I advised them they had the wrong number. They kept calling on my cell phone number without explicit or implicit consent, which is against the law. The operators were rude. They were literally laughing when I asked them for the second time to stop calling the wrong number. I will fill a complaint with the federal and provincial agencies. These people disregard the law.

Shared with me the details of someone's debt, provided me copies of their bills and were extremely threatening abd harassing.

Metcredit are thieves ! After 5 years of the recovery contract when the law says they only have 3 years. They tried to contact me (without a writing letter wich is the law) for a debt less then 150$. They will harass you by anything. Contact someone who can help you and know your rigths. I was told to not pay and block them from trying to contact me.

I would give a 0 if possible.I tried getting information about a letter sent to me about services I received from a company over 4 years ago which where cancelled.However, MET Credit still took my information and refuse to provide me information, refuse to answer my questions and hung up on me. I've also been dealing with this Fred" guy who needs customer service training and learn to communicate effectively and clearly for anyone to understand."

Tried to understand which information they wanted. He asked for the phone-number I am calling him from, which of course was different than the company number in question, because was calling him from my private number. He said, its not the number and hung up. My personal opinion is, don't give any business to this company. They didn't train their stuff on communication skills. Well, I don't know about everybody in the company, but the one I spoke definitely.I know that this review is useless, because they only give the standard answer to call their branch-manager.But that more people review them it might do at some time the difference.

If my voice mail is in English. Leave an English voice message, sounds pretty simple doesn't it? These guys don't answer when you pick it up. They just hang up as soon as you say hello. They only call to harass you. They only text to harass you. Consider yourselves blocked.

THEY BUY YOUR PERSONAL DATA!They called my friend who had nothing to do with them and failed to explain me where did they get his number.I didn't leave his number on the company they're working for.That means they buyed my data and found a place where I did leave his number as a reference.This violates consumer protection law.They may sell the data they get from you too!
