Nutcracker Nursery & Tree Farm

Ordered four fruit trees from them a few weeks back. My shipment was slightly delayed because they had other orders in the queue ahead of mine (completely understandable!). Once the order shipped out, it arrived within a couple days, packaged beautifully and securely. All trees are in very good shape despite the hot weather and the not-insignificant distance they travelled to get to me. Highly recommended!

Communication: I reached out to get some additional info about the rootstocks. Response was a little delayed, unsurprising given that it's vacation season and also 2020. The owner was extremely helpful and informative, and recommended several suitable varieties with the rootstocks I wanted.Shipping: The trees were packed very well, with only one sustaining some damage (Nancy has been very responsive about this and if this ends up being a major issue we'll be following up). Only 2 days from shipped to delivered.Tree quality: As far as quality, I'm very impressed. I'm waiting on pruning until the trees are dormant to avoid winter shock, but the trees have nice thick trunks, good branching, and excellent roots. I'm already planning to order some Asian and European pears next spring.

These guys are awesome. I put together a large order of fruit trees and berry bushes with my local botanist friends, late in the season I might add. Service was great, shipping was great, and quality of the trees that arrived were fantastic. They did run out of a few of the plants we ordered, which is understandable, but they refunded us exactly what we paid for those trees/bushes. Was very grateful for the experience and will definitely order with these guys again!

I just received my order today and I have to say I’m pretty impressed. Everything arrived in perfect condition, something I was a little skeptics of at first. I think I’ve found my new favourite go to place for fruit trees/bushes.

I found this nursery online while looking for honey berry plants and had an excellent experience. I live a province away but they were at my door within a day of being shipped. All of the plants were alive and healthy and now they're thriving in my garden. I'll be making a second order!

I placed an order in October for a fig tree and keffir lime tree. When they arrived the fig leaves had rust spots and lost all of its leaves within a week. I hoped come spring the leaves would return healthy but here we are and the plant is heavily infected with rust. The keffir lime gradually became sadder and sadder until I discovered it too was infested but with scale. But the time I caught the infestation it was too late. I have lots of experience with potted fruit trees and have not had these problems with other plants I own. Quite disappointed and won't be ordering again.

If I could I'll give no stars at all, completely unprofessional. I placed an order at the end of April and asked when I should be expecting delivery, I was told in the next 2 weeks which was perfect time for planting trees and shrubs. Two weeks came and go, more emails sent and phone calls. A month after my order they couldn't find it, however when they did I was told to cancel my order or wait for the fall planting window. I got my order cancelled, but the inconvenience is huge, I had everything timed. However after all this , no apologies or anything that could've explained what happened.Bad customer service.

Bought some blueberry plants and strawberry plants from them. The ordering process went OK. The problems started around the time I wanted to prepare for the shipments. After multiple emails trying to figure out when they were going to ship my plants, I eventually got one that said your plants shipped yesterday". Later on I was advised that they were too inundated with orders to be able to provide their customers with an ETA on shipment

Finally our first positive review for Canadian nursery.The trees were packed exceptionally well. All 4 trees I ordered are large, with a thick trunk, nicely branched and with good roots. They are at least 3 years old or even more. They look all like alive trees.After getting rat tails" like dead trees from another nursery last year ( see my other review if you are curious) this was a truly good quality shipment. I will follow up with figures on how the trees survive but the first impression is a very positive!!!Communication is good

I wish I could recommended Nutcracker Nursery and Tree Farm as they sell a range of interesting trees. The problem is a quarter of my order did not arrive and 2/3 of the trees that did arrive had poor root systems (to see examples, see the attached pictures of 2 oaks they sent). From the website description I was expecting healthy trees, not ones with tap roots kinked back on themselves or growing in corkscrews. It's recommended not to plant trees with poor roots like this. Ultimately only the trees that were missing were refunded. Shipping was $99 plus a $7.44 handling and administration fee, totaling more than 50% the cost of the trees. No part of this was refunded despite 6 trees missing and 10 trees sent with terrible roots. Additionally, 2 trees with decent roots never leafed out. For my $315 order of 21 trees I have 3 trees to show for it (and $71 in missing trees refunded). I've bought bareroot trees from different suppliers for a few years, with good results. It's really disappointing that someone would sell trees with roots like this. To address the owner's reply: I received a refund only for the trees that were missing from my order. No other part of the order was refunded.
