We're taking our grandfather clock in for an assessment of what it would cost to fix it.Their phone etiquette was great, so we can't wait to see the final product!

The Dark Hole for clocks. I left the workings of our grandfather clock just before Thanksgiving. It needed cleaning and lubrication. Dave had serviced this clock for my parents in 1986 so it felt good having him revisit our clock. I was told it would take two weeks. I stopped by at 2 1/2 weeks. At first they said it was ready. But when we found it, it was still in the box on the floor in the exact position where we left it. A month went by. I was hoping to get the clock back for Christmas. I called. Not ready". Finally I read these reviews. Notably the one where they had had the reviewer's clock for over 5 years. Another that was over a year. Many just said "it took a while" or "slow". To their credit they did finally call back and respond to the messages I left: "won't be ready until after the new year" No suggestion of a completion date. I then got concerned about getting my clock back

YES ! The DARK HOLE for clocks. We had the same experience as the others here. Dropped the clock off and came back 2 months later to see if there was any progress and they could not even find it among the hundreds of clocks piled up there for months/years. Finally dug it out from under a pile of clocks and we simply took it home. If you do go, just look around as soon as you step in the door. Not only a huge trip and fall risk to get to the counter but look at the dates on the repair tags and the parts and clocks that are strewn everywhere with no rhyme or reason. Beware the dark hole.

The owner is very experienced and does an excellent job of repairing clocks. The service is fast and friendly. I only wish that he and his employee would consistently and properly wear a face mask. It would be much appreciated by those of us you have a compromised immune system.

Definitely a destination a place to go to visit if you need a clock and you would like to pay a decent price without getting rigged over the coals for a good looking clock and you should come here the minute that you walk through the door you are taking back by all of the sounds and sights of all of the different clocks..

The owner (don't his name), is extremely (and I mean that) confident and smart about everything clocks.I brought in a very rare German clock. The moment he opened the box it took him nanoseconds restart talking about what brand it was what type it was I was absolutely floored.If you need clock repair this guy is the real deal. And if you're looking for interesting clocks of all types Salem Clock Shop is the place to go.

They are very busy, but they work diligently to take care of your needs. They fixed my little tiny problem. Thank them so very much

Fantastic service! Took in a clock from 1881 that had stopped working, they fixed it right up and were incredibly reasonable with the cost, they even sold us a key that we needed to wind the clock! Their passion for quality is unmatched in Salem!

So knowledgeable, so kind, so thorough, and very reasonable. Old school service that's getting harder to find these days. This place is a gem
