I recently bought a home with a fireplace. I was unsure how safe it would be to use it - so called to have someone come look at and potentially clean (if necessary) my new fireplace. Jim came over and was amazing. Very professional, honest, and went through everything with me and answered every question I had. He spent extra time to show me how to use and clean the fireplace. I look forward to calling him for future cleanings and inspections for my home. I would highly recommend.

I'm very satisfied with the services and repair work performed by J C. Aside from rebuilding 2 brick chimneys that had deteriorated, they weather-proofed the brick on rest of our house.Deciding on who to trust is the hardest part once you make the decision to get the work done. I had 4 firms bid on the work. J C was in the middle for cost, but I chose them based on reputation. I'm glad I did. From the techs, office lady, to the owner, all were very professional and focused on the issues and getting it resolved to my satisfaction. I highly recommend Jiminy Chimney! I made an appointment with them to have our chimney cleaned. My husband and I just bought our house a few months ago and we didn't want to use the fireplace without having it cleaned and inspected. They were scheduled to come out on a Friday, but had to reschedule due to an emergency call. No big deal, I totally understood. Instead, they offered to come out on a Sunday even though they are typically closed on Sundays. Not only was it Sunday, but we were also having our first snowfall of the season. Our technician was Jim. He was very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. He took a look at the fireplace and chimney and told us that it didn't require a cleaning at this time. Because it didn't require a cleaning, he did not charge us anything for coming out. He even stayed to show us how to use it. We were extremely happy with our experience with this company. I will definitely be using them in the future.

We discovered during a home refinance that the damage to our chimney was deeper than we thought, so we looked into several chimney repair companies. Rich took a good deal of time with me, explaining the different options I had (even options that cut his company out completely) and patiently answering my questions. We had bids from several different companies, and Jiminy Chimney's was most in line with our needs and what we wanted to pay. They worked efficiently (and were able to fit us in early), and the new chimney looks great. I would definitely hire them again.

Rich was polite and personable during his visit, was on time and called half an hour before arrival to let us know. I purchased my neglected house in the spring with a 28 year old pre-fab fireplace and after I did a thorough self-cleaning I wanted to ensure it was safe to operate. In a matter of minutes, Rich was able to do a full visual inspection and confirmed the fireplace was safe to use. Because it was cleaned and so easy to inspect, he did the whole thing at a very favorable less than advertised rate. If you want fair, upfront and honest customer service, I highly recommend Jiminy Chimney. They've certainly won over my future business.

I had Jiminy Chimney out to do an inspection. I was told he would be at my house within a certain time frame. That time frame came and went and afterward I got a call that the inspector had a family emergency. Absolutely no problem -- I get it. We rescheduled the inspection.Rich came out and he was great. He seemed very knowledgeable, thorough and professional. He found we didn't need a cleaning but we did have a large gap in an joint in the upper part of the chimney that would need to be fixed before the chimney could be used. I was told the office would call me to schedule.Two weeks later I finally called them to schedule. We scheduled the work for a week from then (Now three weeks past the original appointment). I was supposed to get a call in the morning for my window. No call. A half hour before the appointment time, I called and was told that Rich was pulled to a different job in Bartlett (or Barrington) and would not be coming. They did their best to get a different crew out. The new crew showed up three hours later and said they didn't know what the job was, was just told to show up, didn't have the scaffolding or ladders to do the job and someone would be in touch with me the next day to reschedule. That call never happened, and I never reached back out.The only reason for two stars is because the interaction I did have with Rich was a good one.

We had several issues with a wood stove and drafting of smoke in the house. Rich and his team worked diligently to resolve them problem by researching causes and contacting the stove manufacture. Rich always responded and never left us hanging. Excellent customer service, Jiminy chimney is highly recommended.
