Had a problem with our heat pump installed in 2017. Previous owners have paid $1600.00 for an extended service agreement. Called the owner, was rude and dismissive from the beginning of the conversation. Explained that they have nothing to due with the product, and that they are not the representative anymore. I explained that the previous owners paid your company over $11,000 to install this heat pump and you are blowing me off. He proceeded to get angry and explain he was in business for 45 years. I told him that this is unacceptable behavior, that I didn’t appreciate his attitude, and that this is no way to run a business. He then hung up.

We engaged the services of Lockhart Industries in 2013 to install a geo-thermal system at our home in Sooke. We originally thought we would be able to install an in-ground loop, however after consultation and discussion we decided on going with geo-thermal loop into the ocean. It was a challenging project with unforseen issues along the way but the system has been operational now without any further concerns. Although the pay-back will not be as soon as originally anticipated, we are pleased with the final outcome - a lower hydro bill and trouble-free operation.

Doug and his crew installed our heat pump system in 1999 after a detailed study and analysis of our new home and it's surroundings. The installation is based on extracting heat from the salt water in Degnen Bay, Gabriola Island by means of a heat exchanger made from a couple of thousand feet of 1 1/4 inch plastic pipe coiled and placed in the water under our dock. (This is similar to a system using the ground as a heat source, but more efficient).Doug designed and his people built the ducting and venting system and it has remained in place without modification except for the replacement of the electronic filter as a more efficient one became available.The system has worked well for almost 20 years and while a couple of failures did occur, Lockhart responded in a timely and efficient way with a minimum of downtime.
