Clarington Kia

We purchased a vehicle from Clarington Kia in July of 2022 and have been very happy with it. The buying experience was smooth and the associate we dealt with was friendly, straightforward, and easy to work with.In October we left an event to discover a complete flat on a rear tire and, upon inspection, determined that it was not from a puncture. At this time, we noted that the tires were in fact original to the vehicle (model year 2015) and deeply cracked between the treads despite having decent tread depth due to low kms. Like most people, we had checked tread depth, but couldn't have imagined the tires were original on a vehicle of that age.I followed up with the team at Clarington Kia (who by that time had changed staff enough that the two contacts I had were gone) and they invited us to drop off the tires for inspection, which we did. They confirmed that the tires were original and assured us they would inspect them more thoroughly and get back to us.After repeated attempts follow up with them over the next few months with no response, we determined that the new contact we had from our visit in October had also left the dealership, though their email address had not been decommissioned.When we finally re-established contact (in March of 2023), we were told that they suspected a poor seal on the valve stems or the rims as the cause of the leak.While that may be the case, Clarington Kia sold us a vehicle with seven-year-old tires featuring aged rubber and deep cracks between the treads and, at the time of writing, has opted not to do anything to correct their oversight.We would not recommend this dealership. Although our buying experience was satisfactory, we have been very disappointed by their customer service and lack of willingness to participate in replacement for tires which should have been replaced long before the vehicle was resold.In response to the owner's reply - There was no nail and that was confirmed by what your service manager Matthew Wayling told us in an email on March 28th, 2023. My daughter had visited this dealership to purchase her first car. She received a quote and after thinking about it decided she wanted to purchase the car. She called the dealership that morning to ensure the car was still available. The sales person (Jonathan) was not in but the sales manager spoke to her letting her know the car was still available and then Jonathan also called later that morning to get a deposit to hold the car which my daughter provided. When we went in to purchase the car, the price had gone up $3000 from the quote Jonathan had printed for her. No one said anything to her that morning when she called about the car. We felt like we had been deceived and when we asked about the warranty it was part of the car and there was no negotiation. The conversation went downhill from there when we asked about other options. The manager reached out to my daughter the next day to offer some free oil changes or detailing or winter mats to closed the deal but we felt felt we wanted to buy from someone we could trust so we purchased at another Kia dealership.

Buyer be aware! They will try to add many additional fees to your purchase. $899 Kia platinum package, $499 Admin fee, $409 Vehicle Return coverage fee. When you question them about these fees they have a very difficult time explaining what these fees are for. Before buying and signing anything at this dealership ask them for a printed version of the itemized bill of sale and go through the bill throughly and make sure that you are comfortable with every additional fees. You need to do this because unfortunately they do not have your best interest at heart and are only interested in how they can maximize their profits.Edit to the comment below: It is convenient to offer a full refund when the wait list is 6-8 months. This puts the customer is a precarious position. You either pay the additional fees or you wait.

Purchased my first Kia here, a 2024 Seltos. Our sales advisor was Karl Zaman and from the onset he was fantastic to deal with. Approachable, personable, I felt very comfortable asking my questions.
