Love this place. They do nails the proper way. I’ve been getting my acrylic sets at other salons for a long time now and I really like how they soaked my acrylics off, and didn’t damage my real nail. I was able to put a new beautiful set on top of my real nails. Great service, friendly and made be feel very welcome from the moment I arrive.

Super friendly and helpful staff. I've never had my nails done before and told me exactly what to expect and what to book next time for the best possible results. Will definitely be going back again and will recommend!

Got acrylic nails $57 and a regular pedi $35 here, with 10%off in march. I believe the name of the salon changed to Modern nails? I liked my Mani which was done by a guy, however the pedi was done by an inexperienced girl and it wasn't fully dried when I left with my sneakers and got smudged when I got home. I went back wearing flipflops and they fixed it for me.

I have been going to Varnish Nails since it first opened with only the one technician. I was very impressed then, still am, and have been coming regularly ever since. The friendliness and professionalism of the staff is amazing. Keep up the exceptional service ladies and stay fabulous. See you soon.

I got the express gel manicure and gel pedi and the staff was very nice. This is the longest lasting gel manicure I've had in this town! It's been two weeks and I don't have a single chip yet! Will def be returning :)

Absolutely adore this place, since living in Vancouver (about 9 years) I've tried quite a few nail salons around town that had really good reviews - some were good, some not so good - but Varnish really stands out to me in a big way. Been going here maybe 2.5 - 3.5 years exclusively (originally seeing Nikki but now Lyhn; both wonderful and talented); the services I've received are pedicures, gel nails and acrylic nails (currently).I really couldn't say anything bad about this place; I have a great time chatting with the friendly staff when I am there, the atmosphere is lovely (it's cute and very clean), and most importantly I always leave feeling really confident about my nails... Who doesn't love that?!Please excuse the photo's - it's SO HARD to take pictures that properly represent chrome / hologram effect on nails... Either way, they look AMAZING and are exactly what I wanted. Thanks to the entire Varnish team for always making my visits a relaxing and fun experience!

My tech was very patient with my pickiness in getting my nail shape and nail art clean and symmetrical and was very helpful in finding the right colours for me especially given that apparently all the sample colours are so faded that they are completely inaccurate. However, even though I sent a photo of the nail art I wanted when booking, she seemed completely unaware of what I’d requested. It was also frustrating that I repeatedly had to point out crooked lines and patchy or lumpy spots, I’ve never had to give this much feedback when getting my nails done before. Also wound up with a cuticle cut so deep I was bleeding.

This was a great experience I immediately prebooked for my next Mani pedi. Turns out the gel I've been doing has made my nails really weak and they are thin, this is because I haven't been giving my nails a break. She asked me a few questions for diagnosing a cause which I fit the criteria for. Lee gave me some advice for my next Mani to skip polish and do nail strengthener I have been to quite a few salons and none of them told me while my nails have been breaking. I had a wonderful experience. I'll update after my next visit back in 3 weeks.
