Bowmanville Thai

What an absolute disaster.We placed our order over the phone which was very challenging. The person on the phone didn't speak English well nor were they very familiar with the menu, forcing using to reference dishes by menu number instead of just a verbally telling them our order.We were told that the food would be ready in half an hour.I hadn't eaten in over 24 hrs due to work. My wife was hungry from working all day and our two children were also very hungry and were excited when we told them that we would be having Thai.I arrived at the time when the order was supposed to be ready and stood at the front counter. I was ignored for over 10 minutes by all staff present.At this point, the order is 10 minutes late.When I was finally asked what the name on the order was, I was told it would be an additional 10 minutes.I was annoyed, but I waited. And waited.20 minutes after I was told it would be 10 minutes (now 30 minutes late), I was then told they hadn't even started preparing the order and that it would be another 15 minutes.Of course I couldn't trust that the food would be only another 15 minutes. I had already been misled and lied to.I told them they need to be upfront and honest with their customers about order times - despite my own hunger, I had a family including children at home relying on me to bring home the Thai food they were looking forward to.Staff didn't seem to care whatsoever, and actually visibly appeared relieved that they didn't have to prepare my order.I arrived home empty handed and my kids were very upset. Thanks for nothing Bowmanville Thai.How unprofessional of you. Don't lie to your customers about how long the order will take. Be honest about how long the food will take so that I can prepare my family accordingly.We won't be returning despite having enjoyed Bowmanille Thai for several years. We will also be sharing our experience with family and friends and recommending they don't patronize this business.Writing this low rated review is my absolute pleasure.If you continue to operate your business this way, you can expect to be shutting its doors permanently in the very near future.Thanks for nothing.

First time trying this place after driving by many times and it did not disappoint! We ordered the fresh spring rolls, mango salad, and chicken pad Thai. Yummy, good sized portions, and reasonably priced! Ready pretty quickly, too! Highly recommend!

The guys work behind the counter had no clue. They have a new menu online that they don’t follow. Missed part of my order. No special offer and no 10% off with cash

First time customers, amazing food and even better customer service. The food went beyond our expectations of what good Thai takeout could ever be.This will be our new go to place! 10/10, would recommend!

So Thai food is my favourite and I was a bit hesitant to try this place out since I recently moved to Bowmanville from Toronto. I ordered the chicken and shrimp pad thai, as well as the chicken massaman curry. The pad Thai was not ketchupy, which was good and it had a good taste. I would've liked it to be a bit saucier and I felt like the shrimp was a bit overcooked. The massaman curry though smelled great when I opened it and it tasted great. Was a bit different with pieces of pineapple and no potatoes, but would definitely order it again.

MUST TRY! Tried the crispy fish with red curry(my personal best) so far..stir fry thai sweet chilli packed with flavour and torpedo shrimp (used actual shrimps). Definitely coming back for more

We have eaten at Bowmanville Thai at least a dozen times over the past couple of months and never had a bad meal. The price is fair for the portion sizes, they have a great variety of different options and the food is always super fresh and well made. My husband and I always get the curry spring rolls (which are incredible) and 3 dishes to share, with more than enough left over for lunches for the next 2 days.

One of the best places in Bowmanville for Thai food. Tried Bowmanville Thai for the very first time and it did not disappoint. Tried their green Thai curry and it was absolutely great and authentic. Went really well with the jasmine rice. The owners are very nice people too. Prices are super reasonable and the portion sizes are very decent.

Tried Bowmanville Thai for the first time last night and was IMPRESSED! The food was delicious. We had pork dumplings, chicken and shrimp pad Thai, red chicken curry and coconut sticky rice. Service was fast and the staff was friendly. 10/10 would recommend for some yummy food in Bowmanville!
