As first timers here, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. Cabin 6 was a lovely (very) rustic place to stay with an awesome private dock! Couch definitely needs an update, but after reading other reviews I knew to bring a blanket to cover it up with!The price is fabulous and reflects the rusticness of the cabins. Location was so beautiful!! Hope to be back again one day!!

We had never stayed at a cottage/cabin before. We were excited for the new adventure because we like the out of doors and have camped for many years before this. We were in Cabin#3. We reserved for a week (the weather turned out to be one of the hottest of the summer - high 30's with humidex in 40's) Upon arrival we first noticed the screen door handle was broken off and hazardous because it was rough and sharp. There were very soft spots in the floor as we walked around inside our cabin. The 2nd bdrm had a slider window. We did not dare to open or close that window as there was a huge hole in one of the sliders. At one time it had been repaired by duct taping plastic to cover the hole - which at this point was now only covering half of the hole. Maybe all cabins everywhere have no hot water in them, but we were not forewarned of that - as we realized we had to heat water on the stove, during the heat, just to make sure our used dishes were clean (we certainly did not feel secure that people before us would have bothered to use hot water for dishwashing). The couch was so bad we moved it against a wall and brought in our lawn chairs if we wanted to sit inside. We were told there was a queen bed (but we were not told that it was not in the main bdrm which had a double bed). The bed was incredibly saggy and squeaked with almost every breath you took. Maybe with other weather conditions, air circulation would not have been an issue. But the fact that there was not even a window fan provided, (there were no ceiling fans either), if a fan was needed for comfort, would have been something a guest would have appreciated and remembered. We were told we could bring a fan or an a/c unit (fee for additional power) if we wanted. The 2 fans we brought, did nothing to help reduce the heat inside the cabin. Cabin#3 sat out in the sun unlike some of the other cabins. The deck on Cabin#3 had no cover to offer shade, where three other cabins in the treed area had covered decks. The lake was great, and the view was nice too. Unfortunately, we would never recommend this place to others because of all the work that the cabins needed. We left part way thru our stay (we only tried to sleep there 2 nights) – suggestion to anyone inquiring – be sure to ask if there is a refund/cancellation policy. We were told there would be no adjustment for us because it could not be rented for a partial week. However, within a couple hours of us leaving it was advertised for a part week for a higher price than what we paid per night for our week. We are not people that write reviews, but feel it is important for anyone looking at this location, to know specifically what you are getting if you will be in Cabin#3

What a relaxing, enjoyable retreat! Everyone was so friendly and down to earth. Cabins are rustic and very comfortable, and awesome swimming! Would definitely return!

The cabin was in line with the charges. Its very, very, very, very rustic. You pay for what you get, expect that. Water was great and shower facities clean and inviting. Had two days of torrential rain and was surprised with only one leak above kitchen counter.With some tlc, these could be upgraded easily( ie outdoor doors that close fully, screens reverted to the top of the screen door to avoid breakage from being lower down on screen door).2 mandatory changes needed ( min) would have made the stay more enjoyable: the sofa bed and chair ( cabin 7) were very, very, very old and worn ( body oil stained) and need cleaning desperately ( even under the cushions, lots of food) or thrown out. Could not sit on them without covering them because of the many years of stains.Dogs are welcome, its why we chose these cabins. Assumed to be leashed. Dog on-site was very calm, adorable but not leashed and ate any food on decks and got visiting dogs ( on leash) rowled up each time he made his rounds ( multiple times daily). This should be stated on website to warn renters...please put some $$$ into these cabins so much potential and lake is great.

Cabins need maintenance done structurally not very safe. Soft spots in our cabin floor that you could put your foot through. Deck that was to be covered had no roof and the deck had rotten boards. The owner of the establishment have a dog that runs loose and is a nuisance. Intrusive in your space couldn't leave anything food wise on your own deck. We packed up a day and half early. We do not recommend renting a cabin here.

Lovely little cabins, beautiful scenery... we truly enjoyed our stay. It won't be our last visit.
