These ppl work hard within the limitations of our social safety networks to get more for those with very little. Don't go into the office expecting a miracle and you won't leave disappointed.

ACORN is one of the only organizations that actually helps poor communities without hidden motives. The organizers are passionate about social justice and give communities the tools and resources to make sure their voices are heard. I appreciate all the work that they’ve done to change policies and continue to do so.I’ve also used their tax site and they’re so lovely to work with. All of their volunteers & employees are patient, kind and professional. Never had a problem getting my taxes done!

As much as I'd like to believe in ACORN's message, they do not walk the walk that they talk when it comes to respecting the disabled. Case in point, the employment they offered me knowing I'm disabled and can only work part-time. After I went through two months of application process that included an in-person interview, they insisted I work full-time because they ''prioritize'' full-time workers. I could not give up my lifestyle and income and ACORN never called me back.

I’ve sent a written letter before the 5th of the month asking to cancel my membership and not be contracted by this organization, but still they take money out of my account and continuously call me. I felt a lot of pressure and guilt shaming into joining even though I told them I was financially unstable. This made me feel uncomfortable and I would not recommend this organization, especially to those suffering from mental health issues.

Their site mentions free tax clinic, yet they surprise you with a 25$ dollar fee come the day of doing your taxes. Bunch of crooks I'd say. Stay far from it. Only looking to make money off of you. Huge false advertisement.

Was involved in the NB chapter for 2 years until there was a personal conflict between myself and the selF-APPOINTED LEADER who questioned my research information skills and information that I brought to him. Once confirmed the information was accurate neither he or the REPRESENTATIVE John that looked after this area would APOLOGIZE. It was then I discovered this was not where I wanted to be. I left, formed my own group and have successfully resolved many issues for people. What Accorn does for people is very important but on the personel side they need to be more trusting.
