Color Bar Hair & Spa

Approach with caution. I went in on Saturday for a rose-gold ombre. After I washed my hair for the first time nobody could tell it had been dyed and there was no pink in it. The picture is my hair 4 days later.Called the manager to ask about getting a refund and was told that Color Bar does not do refunds, but that I could come back and get more colour added - even though the issue was that my hair had not been bleached enough for the colour to show through in the first place.The manager also let me know that they only guarantee their colours for a week. She also told me there were no concerns with re-dyeing my hair less than a week after the inital color, even though a consultation at another salon told me that I risked damage in doing so.Not much to show for the $168.00 I paid.

The service at Color Bar Hair a Spa was amazing. I went in to see Genie after letting my hair get way too long over the last year, and she cut it down perfectly to something short and professional. I was asked questions that no other stylist I've gone to has ever asked me about how I wanted my hair cut, and it felt really nice to get my hair cut by someone who took the time to check with my on exactly what I wanted. Love my hair cut, love my hair stylist, will definitely be coming back!

I went in to get a cut and highlights. Brought a picture of a silver colour I wanted to try and was told that it would require bleaching and I wouldn't want that. Minutes later she changed her mind and said she could do the silver highlights.She then proceeded to bleach my whole head to a bright brassy blonde. Finally, after two applications of bleach she declared that she could not get it any more silver" but that it looked fantastic

Genie is a genius! She was super friendly and I really appreciate her taking the time to explain to me how to treat my hair… will definitely go back :)

I had such an amazing experience having my hair taken from a mousy brown with gray to a fierce rainbow unicorn. Genie is a color genius!! I gave her an idea of what I was looking for and let her imagination run wild and boy did she deliver. Each color is bright and vibrant. She impressed once again with the two hair tattoos. This girl has talent!Each and every person I spoke to was nothing but professional. The salon has taken steps to ensure everyone feels safe in these trying times.

This salon is a joke. My friend asked for a blended balayage and the stylist proceeded to bleach her entire head and was charged a large amount of money. She now has burns on her scalp. She contacted them many times, not for a refund but to be validated in how they messed up and they ignored her. She finally had to go in to the salon physically to speak to the owner and was treated very poorly and was told it was a junior stylist that did her hair and that’s why it went wrong, also mentioned a refund would not be offered to her even though the work provided by her staff was done incorrectly. I’ve worked in the Industry many years and to not even mention that the person working on your hair is a junior stylist at the time of booking is wrong and they know it. If not a refund, offer some compassion and take accountability for the mistake. So unprofessional! Maybe invest in some proper training for the girls working in your space.

Genie at the color bar was so amazing. My hair was dark and she was able to lighten it in one treatment safely with no damage. She recommended I put in purple shampoo to clear any brassiness ... so I did and my blonde hair is even more pretty. She has lots of tips and advice that HELP. She really knows what she is doing with color and on the plus side she is super nice and easy to talk too :) I bought clip in extentions and she put them in for me and blended and lightened them to my hair making them look great. She showed me step by step how to do it so I know for next time and even offered me her number to text her if I needed help. I am very happy with my experience there.

I really love this salon. Beautifully renovated and online booking is a plus. I have seen both the owner Jill and Jenna and both are fantastic. My husband sees Carlie for barbering and also keeps coming back.

It is almost impossible to find a hair salon that caters to women who wear a headscarf in Saskatoon. I am so lucky to have found Genie at the Color Bar. 10/10!

Genie is an incredible, knowledgeable master of her craft. I have curly hair and have always struggled finding a stylist who understands the complexities of curly cuts. Genie gets it, and taught me some things I didn't know about my own hair. She makes you feel immediately at ease, is focused on perfection but manages to make it fun. The salon is trendy and cute, and I am so happy to feel like I've found my new hair home ❤
