Yvette is an amazing trainer!

As a new dog owner, I wasn’t sure what to expect, but I knew I had a responsibility to help my dog grow into a respectable canine citizen. In class, We took things step by step - my dog learned and as an owner, I got a great education in positive methods that work and the science behind it. After group class ended there were a few things I wanted to fine-tune. Yvette really took the time to listen and ask questions, using a personalized approach for both me and my dog. I still actively use the information that Yvette first gave me almost 2 years ago and I’m proud to say that I’ve got an awesome dog!

Not a fan. Works out of garage, king of weird. Dog Training itself is very treat oriented (and I mean a lot of treats)- not for us.

Was great in the beginning, but covid happened and left us without classes to go to, and since everything has been open we haven't been contacted or offered a refund. We were in for 1 training class with our puppy. 2 stars because the 1 class was great.Been a few weeks, still no email back or phone call or any offer to give the money back. Pretty sad.

Lots of great insight into dog behaviour

We received a 5 week puppy class paid for by the rescue we got our dog from (ARF Ontario), and we loved Yvette so much that we are soon starting our 4th session with her. Super knowledgeable, knows her stuff cold, and always eager to help with any issue. The way she teaches positive reinforcement training is fun, funny, and enjoyable for both the dog and the humans. She even worked with me to finish makeup classes after I broke my back, to help me continue to work with my dog even with my limited abilities. Can't say enough how much we love Awesome Dogs at our house!!

I used Awesome Dogs to help with my overstimulated, reactive snd anxious large breed bully mix years ago. He had just turned one years old and was very hard to manage. Yvette used counter conditioning from a low threshold and helped work our way up to more difficult situations. She also was extremely helpful in training the owner (me) how to respond appropriately, and taught me games to use with my dog to learn impulse control and calmness.I very much credit her, behavioural medications and my own hard work and repetitions on my dog being alive today. He’s much more manageable at the vet, in novel situations and is overall a much happier pup. A big thing I personally learned was to accept him the way he is, and learn that he won’t meet all my expectations. How to manage him to reduce his anxiety and help build up his threshold for reactivity.It’s been 4 years since I saw Yvette but I figured I’d review anyways since she popped into my head this morning when someone asked me for a dog traîner recommendation.

I can't recommend awesome dogs enough! When we started our dog was very reactive to people and other dogs. We did 5 private lessons and are seeing major results (and are planning on doing more in the future). Yvette is clearly very passionate and friendly and really helped me and my partner communicate with our dog better. As long as you're committed to working on your training, you will get the tools you need to help your dog.

Yvette is absolutely fantastic. Wouldn't take our pup anywhere else.
