We fostered briefly for MUR. They weren’t sure the dog we were going to be fostering would be good with our cats, so they swapped the dog for one in another foster home. It ended up working out perfectly. The other dog did extremely well (was very underweight when coming into rescue). We ended up foster failing.I really appreciated how thorough the rescue was in ensuring the dogs went to homes that were best for them. The rescue themselves does great work and I’m so grateful for their love, care, and advocacy.

We adopted our dog about a year and a half ago. Due to the overwhelming amount of applications, it took a bit of time for MUR to get back to us about our application. They were fair and thorough throughout the whole process. The foster was great with our puppy and we were able to easily transition him into our home.

Do these dogs deserve a chance at a furever home? Absolutely! Is Manitoba Underdogs setting them up for success, or failure? It's hard to say. I recently did a meet-and-greet" with a puppy and their foster family. I have experience training puppies and young dogs into rural/farm working and companionship situations. The foster family had inadvertently trained hand-biting behaviours into the puppy by rough-housing and allowing the puppy to treat hands like toys during the month they had been fostering her. They had also inadvertently trained crate-aversion behaviours. Can these be corrected? Sure

I have nothing but good things to say about this organization. I recently contacted MUR to help me find a dog to adopt. From the moment I contact them they were incredible. They are quick on their responses and are very through and honest throughout the entire process.Every single question or concern I had they helped me. When I felt a little lost I had someone talking to me and giving me suggestions and tips and encouraging me.In the last little bit I have been in touch with MUR I have learned so much. Things I will take with me for the rest of my life. They truly do have the best interest in every animal they take in and work so hard to find the perfect family to every single one of them. For the ones who had a negative experience, my suggestion is, keep in touch with MUR. Maybe the pet you wanted wasn’t the best fit for you and that is in the best interest of the dog/cat. But these people truly will go above and beyond to help you. I am living proof of that.It takes a big heart to this kind of work and these people have the biggest heart I know. And the biggest thank you to Cayla for being a rock to me throughout this entire experience.MUR truly is an amazing organization ❤️

I have been volunteering with MUR for nearly a year and I have nothing but great things to say about organization! They are very responsive, helpful, and caring. They always put the dogs in their care as first priority. Each dog is an individual with unique needs, which means they are thoughtful when placing the dogs with fosters, and especially adopters. It's clear all they want is the best life for these pups. Highly recommend!

Great organization! We adopted our little girl last year and have nothing but great things to say about them. From fostering to adoption such a caring group of people. They make sure that the dogs they are entrusted with are going to homes that are a good fit for each pup. They did a great job of making sure our dog was getting all her shots and dates for spaying. Much appreciated! Very thorough vetting before placement. With the high rate of return of dogs after pandemic this is essential for a forever home!

This organization does such a fantastic job! We adopted our big boy from MUR a few years ago, and we were very impressed by the professionalism, thoroughness, and care they put into the adoption process. It is obvious that the group is dedicated to finding the best forever-homes for their rescues. Every detail was efficiently arranged and clearly communicated. Even after the adoption, we continued to receive support from them and they were available to answer any questions we had. We absolutely recommend this rescue, and will definitely adopt from them again.

As a foster and an adopter, I have seen firsthand the absolute dedication and care put in every day by this rescue. This isn’t just about getting dogs into houses, it’s about finding the perfect match for each individual dogs needs and personality to ensure the best quality of life for every one, and I think that is so special. They go above and behind for every dog in their care and the MUR community is super supportive for the long term. Highly recommend for anyone serious about finding their perfect fur-ever friend.

i’ve been a part of multiple different rescue groups and the people who run this one are very problematic. I fostered briefly with them and was completely disrespected by the director of the rescue and if you’d ever fostered with them you know who i’m talking about. The other women mean well but are also problematic and i don’t think always have the best interest of the dogs in mind. I respect the rescue as a whole and what they want to do but the people who run it need to change or change attitudes. Idk how you can be rude to someone giving their time and home to a dog

I adopted my dog Moose from MUR 9 years ago and I have fostered many puppies since then. I have always been pleased with the care, knowledge and organization this rescue has. I have seen the work they do in remote communities first hand and am constantly amazed at the compassion they have for the animals and the community. 5 stars is not enough for the work these volunteers put into all the furry friends they cross paths with.
