Abington Court Retirement Residence- Unicare Enterprises Inc

My mom is there and they love her so much!! The workers are very kind and respectful. The home is also clean and easily accessible for her and others. I highly recommend Abington court to anyone looking for long term care.

My boyfriend's father was resident there. I am a RN of 41 years.He passed last December. He left an impeccable home. Upon removing his belongings, they were infested with bed bugs. His clothing, the mattress and a brand new powered lazy boy Chair. They all had to be discarded. This is the truth. We have no reason to lie. The food was mediocre at best and we brought him out for dinner as much as possible. He enjoyed the nursing staff but not the administrator Vishna, who we were informed has left or been terminated. She ruled with an iron fist and staff were fearful of reprisal, or termination if they questioned her. It is sad that the money he paid to reside there and the place was infested with bed bugs. Last name Dubaich. It was brought to the administrators attention and she got all defensive and denied. I think public health should become involved. Quite poor living conditions for vulnerable individuals. If you research the reviews here they come back with some really unprofessional rebuttals. This is so sick and dysfunctional. I dont think people would make allegations of bed bugs if they did not exist. He complained of pruritis, itchy skin but never in our wildest dreams did we think he was being bit by bed bugs.

For years my family and I have been trying to find a retirement home for my grandma, and especially during Covid it’s been really difficult. But Abington Court has been so accommodating and helpful through every step. Everyone that we’ve interacted with has been so kind and understanding of the situation. They do so much to keep all of the residents safe and I wholeheartedly trust them to help my grandma with anything she might need. If you’re even slightly considering Abington Court I 100% recommend booking a tour, you won’t regret it!!

I absolutely love this place! Abington court provides so many services like fitness classes, nutritious home-cooked meals and a beautiful courtyard with a garden for my parents. They are absolutely thriving at Abington court and I recommend it to anyone looking for a safe, welcoming place for your loved ones. Not to mention the staff are wonderful. Thank you Abington court for providing excellent service to my parents especially in these difficult times!

THIS HOME IS THE BEST, FORGET ABOUT THE REST!My husband and I moved in on May 1st, 2022. Prior to choosing this place I checked out homes in Hamilton, Ancaster, Dundas, Waterdown, Stoney Creek and Grimsby. I was suggested by a friend to check out Abington Court Retirement Home and I am so glad I did. The food is excellent (homemade in their kitchen), they clean the rooms daily, although they will do the residents' laundry weekly there is a laundry room residents can use if they want, the care is exceptional and both the staff and residents are very friendly. Also the 1/2 acre backyard is beautiful with walking paths, trees and flowers.This place is like a little bit of heaven on earth. But why take my word for it? Why not come and check it out yourself and don't forget to ask for a free lunch. It will be whatever the residents are having that day.

All the staff is very nice and extremely accommodating to all the needs of the residents. The back yard space is amazing, I just love to sit out there every time I go for a visit. They have had the best covid protocols I have seen so far and the staff is on point with making sure everyone has been safe through this horrible ordeal. I would highly recommend this facility if you are looking to find somewhere just like home for your loved one.

I worked at Abington Court when I was younger and returned later as an adult and all the staff and management have been as kind and welcoming and as family oriented as I remembered. You can tell that this retirement home is run by people who love their residents and who truly treat each person who comes here with respect. Both Staff and residents are treated like family and you really do feel like you make a difference in the lives of the residents who come to live here.

All I can say is hands down this is one of the best retirement residences in the city. They really are all about the health wellness and safety of their residents. They are one of the few residences in the city which have had no covid outbreaks. They go above and beyond when it comes to cleanliness and sanitation. They provide the most nutritious meals and they don't charge for some of the services other retirement homes charge for.. they have beautiful gardens too. I highly recommend Abington Court. Call them for a tour and check it out see for yourself.

My mom spent her time in respite here. Everyone from nurses, servers and management were wonderful. I'm very appreciative of what they did for us and what they did for my mom. Thank you to all employees at Abington!

Recently I have read some negative reviews towards the Abington Court Retirement Residence which is totally unfounded in fact.My mother-in-law was a recent resident their for five years and she never had issues, not with A/C, not with any outbreaks.She was a social butterfly and would go out of her way to make friends.Activities she would be involved in were cards, assembling puzzles, gardening and just visiting the other people in the facility.The PSW's were very facilitating if she needed something extra.When my wife and i went for visits, she would comment on how nice the place was run and also the cleanliness, which was visibly clean, and smells so nice.Anyone reading the negative reviews of this establishment should come out and visit it in person and make their own decisions before they decide to use there services and discover that the negative statements made are false.
